Harold Faltermeyer wrote this, for the original Top Gun in 1986. Zimmer adapted it for Top Gun: Maverick. Zimmer composed the rest of the score for the film, but this piece (Top Gun Anthem) is Faltermeyer's music.

The original top gun anthem was written by Harold Faltermeyer and the Guitar parts were performed by Steve Stevens. Harold Faltermeyer wrote the music with Steve Stevens playing guitar and Faltermeyer on the keyboard on the recording.

Along with GG's supersonic guitar solo, Bell Girl stole the show!! The way she sensuously coaxed various and _correct_ notes out of just _one bell_ was breathtaking! Bravo to all!!
