I love this. After a couple years of having my current cat I realized she had named me because every time I would come in the room she would call out this one sound and it was always the same different from her other vocalizations. So my name to her is Maru. And if she wants a treat I ask her what’s my name and she will say Maru and gets the treat.

My cat will stay on my bed if I say “I’ll be right back, you stay right there” but when I’m in the kitchen making his food I love the way he meows at me while I walk it over to his placemat. He does this loud “kitten meow” as I call it lol. I just love his sweet little face.

This is so cute, I’ve never had to train my cat to do this though, when it’s food time he just sits on the couch until I put his food in his bowl and then I press a button that says “food” and then he’ll come and eat it. Cats can be so well behaved if you just treat them with respect.

I taught my cat to sit by holding a treat slightly above his head (a bit in front so it wasn't directly over his skull, more over his nose) and repeating "sit" and only giving him the treat when he sat, if anyone is interested in doing the same. Also, if the cat stands on their hind legs, pull back for a moment and tell the cat no/whatever word you correct your cat with and then go back to the original position when the cat stops standing. My cat got it within an hour but he was only like 5 months old so it might take longer for older cats.
