A child object is when you attach an object to another object like if you have a light and you want it to follow you you have to attach it to your character and it will follow where you go and stuff like that...if im right thats what ive heard

you need to delete that and you need to delete that tex at the top so it will work just fine

For me it said "All Compiler Errors Must Be Fixed Before Playing" what does that mean exactly? o.o

This needs to be updated.
Unicite is not in the version of Unity I have and is not configurable.

one question:
I use unity 4, I think you used an older version.
Now, has the scripting with java changed?
Unity tells me for example instead of "transform.translate"
I should use

i think that var thePlayerSpeed shouldn't be declared as int, it should be float. :)

Marino Tolj yes, extremely weird looking and complicated when you first see them! but no worries, with time, you will realise how easy it is...it's just like learning a new language, but an extremely easy one, you just need to learn the grammar and use your brain and try very hard to understand, i also thought i will never understand it, but now i know the basics and i think that in time i will learn all other stuff..

Not really, the best way is to manually type everything out and never copy and paste as a beginner. If you copy and paste, you aren't going to remember it in the future.
