I have been using the moab 3 without Goretex for a couple of months now, ranging from April to June, and it has been and absolute joy. It has been cold, some what wet and hot ass h. The comfort, traction and quality is outstanding, in my opinion.

Thanks for your review. I have been using the Moab Goretex for a long time -- probably the 5th pair by now. I use these as my daily shoes to walk about, and for light hiking in the local conservation areas. I like them very much, but now reconsidering to find something else - the last one was subpar in quality. The fabric started to rip too soon with hardly any rough use, and the black thing in the front began to disintegrate. The quality complaint aside, my second reason is to find something that is easy to wipe clean. I used it on a 15 day trip to Mexico that involved 20 to 43 thousand steps per day - and the shoes became incredibly dirty with dust.

I live about a 2 hour drive from El Capitan peak. I just purchased the Moab 3 shoes. I’m breaking them in so that I can try and make it to the peak.
