Who else spotted the mistake?
"Noodle" mode is only for hyper tubes, the one for pipes is "Conveyor 2D" My bad

Super clean and professionally edited, just like your builds and advice. It flows (pun intended) at a really satisfying (pun intended) pace, which is the sign of great editing (it's not always about flashing whooshy graphics). You've taken care to record your lines perfectly and cut out any unwanted noises but you've been good at that for a while now!
I noticed you're using more text and arrows. They appear exactly where I need them, to help emphasise your point (pun intended) ->
I didn't know about the actual feedback mechanics on pipes (such as it being more open therefore more full). Really useful.

Great job, Total. Looking forward to part 2. :)

The mistake went right over my head. I didn't even know about the R option when working with pipes. I've been struggling with piping lately and will be using this to help. Your videos are always so helpful and informative. Thank you!

As a pipeline engineer, I had a little cheer when infound out satisfactory used basic fluid dynamics.

This is game is so fun because here I am watching a video learning about pipes for a game!

Seen many of your videos but this is the first time I saw you and you did not look like I thought. I didn't expect the beard my friend! Love your content my man!

Thank you for the explanation my friend!
I now see why my pumps weren't efficient

FWIW, in this video you cover how to have one fluid source supply two destinations with one of them having priority over the other... I've figured out how to instead have two sources supply a single destination and still set a priority. (Which makes dealing with fluid byproducts a piece of cake.) It's actually quite simple, and I now have a video up on my channel explaining it if you're interested.

Not sure if this'll be covered in the second part, but for the vertical option on pipes, the bend happens on the end connection.

Looking forward to pt 2 - I suck with vertical pipes!

Regarding to empiric data, hence testing a lot, i discovered some issues with oil extractors and the MK2 pipes.
While an oil extractor on a pure node and some power shards can supply 600 m³ of oil, it doesnt have the power to push for a 600m³ flowrate it seems. At least for longer distances. It became obvious when an oil extractor supplying 600m³ couldnt support a turbofuel factory that uses up 600m³. On inspecting i saw the extractor stalling out at like 70% efficiency, since he stopped working when the pipeline was still too full.

I could however manage to overcome the issue by placing a MK2 pump right after the extractor.

Fantastic video. Part 2 will be what I think I'll need. My issue stems from headlift or something perhaps with the placement of my pipe... I tried to go into fluids blind with very little expectation for the game to have such a comprehensive understanding of transporting liquid. I had to dig out my old state pipeline handbook and brush up on why pressure was all over the place.

But you managed to simplify it and provide me with a clever means of hiding my pipe. 👽

Your videos are great man, super helpful! You should do a segment where you have fans invite you into their game and you critique and offer tips on their builds

got a challenge for you.
play using only fuel generators for power source.
give you crazy amounts of rubber and plastic as bonus.

Is it just me that would be totally fine with longer videos instead of 2 short ones?

Where do you get the white buildings and walls mate?
Thank you for your videos too 👌

What is the button press to bring up the menu to choose between default, vertical, and noodle build mode?

I hope this is covered in the next video but when do I need to place water pumps? is it just vertically or also horizontally?

So, what power source will connect to miner when setting up coal generator for the first time?
