HOW TO GET HIRED AT MACY'S!!!! Interview tips + more

Things not really mentioned:

1. I applied for flex receiver position- I'm on call

2. I wore a black pants suit, white blouse, black blazer, and black flats.

3. I did my make up on the natural side. I did not fill in my eyebrows since I know it can look harsh.

4. Arrive 30 minutes early. It shows that you're dependable and also, the person interviewing you may be busy since Macy's is always busy.

5. Arrive without anyone. It looks unprofessional if you do.

6. No, you don't need to wear all black to the interview. Unless it's beauty, but trust that look is played out. Trust me.

8. Eye contact and smiles!

9. Availability is key.

10. There was no group interview and I got offered the job on the spot :)

I'm getting an interview this Monday (August, 14 @ 3:30pm) and I'm the type who has their voice quiver when they speak. I'm getting hired for men's retail retail commission (and I never worked at retail before) I wanna know if I have to bring anything to the interview . I hope not. As someone who worked at Macy's for three years, DON'T DO IT! I used to work in the men's dress section and it was the worst. The managers constantly were on your back about selling their credit cards with ridiculously high interest rates and I've seen coworkers do whatever it takes to con people into signing up for one. Dealing with self entitled customers who will yell at you because you're following company policy day and cleaning up after people who throw clothes all over the place in and day out wears on you. I started to hate life and all people. I ended up getting out of that hell and finding a job I enjoy. I'm so much happier now. Never work for Macy's. They'll bleed you dry.

I literally applied to like 10 places at my local mall and only 2 called back one of them being macys. I got the job and now I have my training this weekend. (I didnt do any research on the company before getting hired) But now everywhere I look people talk some major shit about working for the company :/ Im kind of on the fence about it tho because they are gonna pay me $9.15 an hour which is way more than most other places at the mall. (Where I live minimum wage is still 7.25) So im not sure if I should just suck it up and stay or leave and loose that sweet 9.15 offer for a possible 7.25 at another place. ( I dont have much work experience so I doubt ill be hired at any other high paying place) Any advice?

Let me tell you something:Macy's is desperate to hire people, because no one is applying to Macy's. I worked there for 5 years and I helped out in HR, plenty of times. People tend to quit due to how horrible the place is, both their business and customer service is going down. Honestly, you seem like a good person I would say, do not work there. It will destroy you, it destroyed me as person

what the hell I did everything you mention I looked everything up on glassdoor and when I get there they only asked me like three questions and that was it. then I get an email saying sorry we can't hire you like what the hell this is like my third time applying to them
