Fun thing, the bread pieces removed when hollowing out the bread, can be used in stews or soups, to add to them. Though some dislike it, but it is generally a good additional nutrition. Makes soups stave off hunger for longer as well.

My grandfather used to make sandwiches like this all the time when I was younger and would cut it the same way but smaller and I would split it between my brother and my cousins. I’m going to go make a big sandwich now 🥲
