As an atheist who was raised Christian- I absolutely believe this and have come to this line of thinking upon my own reflection

I’m an atheist simply because I don’t believe in a deity. BUT I don’t think Christianity is evil. I actually think Jesus is a great figure whose message and teachings are completely bastardized by Christians.

Having said that, nothing this man said I think an atheist would want to debate? Like he’s not saying anything controversial. A lot of atheists actually criticize organized religion, calling Christians hypocrites because we all know that the figure of Jesus, whether we believe he existed or not (I think he did) was a great man. His teachings were very inline with leftism and many atheists ARE leftists.

The debate is whether or not there is a god. Or whether or not to have separation of church and state. No one needs to debate the idea that Christ was good or not- he objectively was a good figure
