Let’s drop the pretense here: You cannot find REAL truth outside of Jesus. He is THE way, THE TRUTH and THE life. Any supposed “truth” you find outside of Jesus is a “distorted truth”. It’s a false kind because it’s intermingled with the lie. The lie that there are paths to God without the blood of The Son of God, Jesus.

You can’t find truth in energies, karma, and enlightenment, some of which are heavily in these false religions. How are you finding truth in sayings and concepts dipped in things such as energies?

Why would I listen to sayings from
Buddha? Those sayings or whatever false “wisdom” that’s developed was saturated and born within the false confines of an idolatrous religion. That religion informs the basic moral principles that come from figures such as Buddha.

Christianity is the only religion that is not works based. We are saved by faith alone. No other "world view" or religion is compatible with that. Either we somehow "earn" our salvation through works, or we do not.

This is why Christianity is either exclusively true, or it is untrue.

I think he's referring more to appreciating the values we share and their cultures, more so than theology. Finding truth, and finding THE truth are two different things if you get what I mean.

I think that you can find *value* in other religions, but we as Christians need to remember that Jesus is THE Truth, the Way, and the Life, and nobody comes to the Father except through him. You can learn from other religions and still say that they aren't true, at least not wholly, because only Jesus is the truth.

Not only that, but each of those religions you mentioned (especially Islam) also make exclusive claims of being the only source of truth as well

of course there's truth to all other religions (e.g Buddha teaching the people not to care about earthly possessions, which Jesus taught too) and loads of other examples like that but just because we can extract certain philosophical statements and life advice from them and apply them in our lives, that doesn't mean those gods are real. at least that's what i think he meant to say

If I was to play devil's advocate in the extreme, I THINK what he might be trying to get at is the idea that it further expands the possible understanding of the nature of the world and humanity. BUT, even if that idea holds any merit, there is so much in these other religions that would either contradict and/or bring unnecessary confusion to someone that wants to follow the God of the Bible. So, I agree with this video's criticism of that progressive claim, but I thought it might be helpful to offer a different interpretation of their claim. The reason why is since there will be many times in life where we are needing to determine the nature of a claim so as to address it when talking about it with the person who made the claim in the first place.
