When my family had to go through my grandmother’s house after she died (non hoarder) we found dollar bills EVERYWHERE. In boxes, between the mattress, under cans, inside feminine hygiene products she no longer needed, even in used tissues! The Great Depression taught her to hide everything from robbers!

That truck did not break down. They didn’t want to do the job.😂😂😂😂😂

I had to do that in my moms house recently. Not food trash like that, but mail, bills, magazines & catalogs. Tied off in grocery bags, trash bags, rubbermade tubs, etc. Everything had to be sifted through, because ya never knew where money, important papers or family treasures were stuffed.

I found probably $1500 in cash, $150 in change, countless family heirlooms, and $15k in jewelry.

Cleaners must be better appreciated. Janitors, room attendants, industrial cleaning personal, waste management. All do amazing work.

Mad respect for you and your crew...as a former "hoarder" who "somehow" managed to save himself receiving this type of help whould have been a godsend gift back in the day...

I had to clean out a garage a few years ago...I found a shoebox with about 50 unopened Bday cards, Christmas cards, Easter cards...EVERYTHING was supposed to go in a dumpster but curiosity got the best of me. Every one of those cards had a $50.00 bill in it, funny thing is, the house wasn't much more than a shack.

My mom was a hoarder, but it wasn’t trash like this. It was antiques and art and stuff like that. She had multiple storages full of them. She wasn’t dirt, it was just tons and tons of art work, antiques sculptures, glass stuff, etc.

My great-grandpa kept money between the mattress and box spring. Going thru the depression this generation didn't trust banks. Starting to think they're right to think that way.

I did remediation in DFW for a few years. WE found everything from a Grand Piano worth around 45k to a Yamaha RZ350 that had 200miles on the clock dissembled, wrapped in oil cloth and stuffed in a wooden crate. Of course for every cool find you had to haul off 3 tons of filth and Texas heat really makes stuff hum in the summer.

I can understand people hoarding objects, but I'll never understand hoarding garbage.🤢

When I go over to my elderly but still active mom's house, I can see the beginning of these tendencies. She's keeping small sometimes torn bags/old food containers as reusable trash bag. But she doesn't generate much trash. So these containers/plastic bags are collecting all over, in cabinets, in her laundry areas, under chairs, etc. I tried telling her but have taken to just taking most with me when I go to discard, recycle/use elsewhere. I don't want it to ever get to these hoarders videos level!

Holy shit, this takes my back to houses I used to work on back in my auction house days. SO many homes we ended up cleaning like that. Still sing tales of Dead Dog Ranch. Don't worry folks. There where plenty of dead animals. Not just canines. Smell was so bad the open house had to literally be open with Air fresheners everywhere and it still stank of dead mouse & piss.

When my great aunt passed away we found 20’s and 100 dollar bills inside of books and stuffed in envelopes hidden all over her house. They found enough cash to bury her and had money left over. That’s all the family knows because her brother took the total of money he found to the grave with him. Everyone always thought she was dirt poor. The whole family was helping to clean out her home until we started finding money, and then her brother locked the doors and cleaned it himself. Lol.

It's quite amazing that the bills are so crisp and new throughout all that mess. Interesting

I do this job in the U.K London and you would not believe how many houses end I looking like this !! Sometimes the people hide the mess so well their neighbours don’t even know !!

And you would be truly amazed the amount of treasure hidden amongst all that filth !!

Very satisfying job though for me I must admit !!
