Ode to Lia: This makes me so sad. I knew Lia. She was my nursing school instructor. The watch she has on was the same watch she wore when I was her student. Its the OG of nursing watches. The dinosaurs will get it. She was very dedicated to being a professor and being a nurse. She was professional and always went by the book. I understood that and respected that. What people may not know is that she lived through an incredible tragedy that was not mentioned in the show. The school she worked at was attacked by an active shooter who killed seven of her students. I believe she was off campus at the time, however she had to return to the school and return to teaching following the shooting. I don't think many people would be able to do that. To this day, I remember the classroom it happened in still had bullet holes in the walls. It was remarkable that Lia was even able to still walk into that building. It's a testimony to who nurses are and how they power through trauma. But do they? I was in that first class she taught following the tragedy. She doesn't know this, but She made a difference in my life during at time that was very fragile. She helped launch my career. I went on to do good things because of her, that I know she would be proud of. With that said, I still question everything and ask many questions; which like your love for the American flag will never change. I want people to remember to be kind because you never know what someone might be going through....Thank you Lia for all you did for me, and I wish you and your family peace, happiness, and good health.

Those are very clearly defined paths through all of that stuff. As a gerbil, I find It guite impressive.

I'm so happy this show exists. It showed me what my future was without help. I used to think like that until someone showed me another way.

Love those overhead camera shots showing the "paths". Kudos to the production team.

Lia should start a craft club at the local community centre, she might meet people who love knitting etc, she could make some friends. It would give her a new lease of life. She has definitely got plenty of supplies. Best wishes to lia and her family I hope she enjoys her new space.😀

I felt her pain when she was talking about not having many friends. Kinda heartbreaking tbh.

And her even CONSIDERING keeping ANYTHING from that freezer is horrifying. Wow, she is REALLY not ok...
She just LOOKS so broken and defeated. Ugh.

I'm exactly the opposite. When I had a ton of friends, I always felt obligated to constantly be out with them. I never had "me time."
They also bicker and argue, then expect you to gossip and it would drive me nuts. I finally just stopped talking to many of them and it was like a huge weigh lifted off of me.
I haven't hung out with anyone in years and I'm so much happier.

Honestly I’m impressed by how this hoarding is piled to the sides to create those pathways.

I have empathy for people with this disorder but I’m frustrated by the fact that the spouses have no say ever. So because of “mental issues” that always trumps the mental wellness of the partner. It’s really not fair.

“Do you want to keep this broken brick?” “Yes”🤣🤣🤣

The scariest part for me watching these shows is how many of them are crafters! I'm always trying to keep my crafting supplies at a minimum because I'm worried I'll get to this level of clutter/hoarder

Omg when she says she didn’t have friends.. I wanted to give her a hug 🤗

At the same time it’s weird her husband is not considered a friend… or even anyone in her family

Lia has deep down, serious emotional and mental problems. I hope her therapist can make a breakthrough and help her out of them.

Oddly surprising how organized the house is for how much stuff they have, normally you see stuff layering the floor.

Leah did an amazing job letting the crew help make her house a home again. And she said at the end that she really appreciated their help.
