NASA JUST Announced The San Andreas Fault Cracked & Going To Cause Record Flooding
Показать описание
Just barely a few weeks ago, an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 ravaged Syria and Turkey, killing close to 50.000 people. Soon, an earthquake of the same magnitude might be striking America. According to experts, the San Andreas fault, which had lied low for many years, shows signs of a massive quake. It's frightening, so you must watch this video until the end.
Located in America, the San Andreas fault is a sliding boundary between the Pacific and North American plates. It slices California into two, from Mendocino to the Mexican border. San Diego, Los Angeles, and Big Sur are on its Pacific plate. Those of the North American plate are San Francisco, Sacramento, and the Sierra Nevada. Formed by a transform boundary, its motion is a right-lateral strike-slip. And the degree of quake risk differs from boundary to boundary among its three boundaries.
At least five earthquakes have been recorded on the fault. The first one occurred in 1857. The Fort Tejon earthquake's magnitude was about 7.9, killing two people in the process. The reason for the low number of casualties is the fact that not so many people were living there at that time. If it were to be today, the casualties would have been closer to the Syrian-Turkiye's own. Others struck in 1906, 1957, 1989, and 2004. Felt across even the San Francisco Bay area, the 2004 quake, which originally struck the Parkfield area, had a magnitude of 6.4. Is something worse happening very soon?
