TL;DR version: LOL NO

Short version: Soaking makes no difference to bioavailability of nutrients in nuts. In fact, you lose some minerals to the water. It works for grains and legumes (we anyway have to soak dal to make them cook quicker)

That’s good to know. No harm in soaking nuts and no harm in eating unsoaked nuts that I’ve been dry roasted. I’m glad that both are OK.

This is an eye-opener, thanks! What about soaking methi (fenugreek) seeds overnight, drinking the water, and swallowing the soaked methi? Do you think that really helps? Please advise.

I thought the phytates were present in the skin of almonds which can be removed after soaking and peeling them... Is there any study documenting those results?

For me, soaking nuts just makes it easier to digest since they already have water content.
