No shame at living with parents, it’s just how we do it that matters.

As a European, as messed up as these people are, living at home when single isn't really a wild thing to me. Why live somewhere for a hell of a lot of rent, if I can chill with my family whom I love, in a huge house with a lovely garden...? Much easier to save money that way, while working of course.

I find really interesting how living with parents can trigger some people.

Looks like the type that his parents forced him to get good grades in school, forced him into college and now that he has the degree, doesn't want to work anymore because hes been treating school like a job for his entire life.
I know a few people like that, feel bad for them

Honestly, living with your parents at 27 is a necessity for some people. I’m saving to buy a home, working full time, and contributing to my parent’s household. Throwing away 2, 000 dollars on rent is a waste just for the sake of living somewhere else. But my family is all really close and I understand not everyone has that relationship

Pro tip; find technical recruiters and tell them what you're looking for, give them your resume. Do this with 10-20 recruiters. They get a bonus they find you a job. You now have a small army of people who's interest align with yours and they are essentially working for you. I doubled my income twice with this technique.

I do sympathize with him because the process to get a job now takes ages. It took months to hear back, then months to go through the interview process. Out of a handful of positions I interviewed with, it took me 6 months to finally start.

I live at home at 29, unfortunately that's the only way to save for a home in CO. I also actually save and don't spend money on frivolous things

Times have changed, living with parents shouldn’t be embarrassing. The housing economy is shit

having a masters degree and not being able to find a job sums up college in america. go to community, save money, then pursue uni.

Why is this guy so frustrated that he lives with his parents? It’s very common.

I told my parents my plan to buy a couple acres, maybe more. Build a tiny home, they were like, we were planning on giving you the house. I’m 29, they asked me if I wanted to move back in to save on rent. They let me grow. My parents are badass

I’m 27 in September and still live with my parents, and I used to feel really, really bad about myself in my earlier 20s for it. But I’m beyond thankful because I get to spend just a little more time with them, help around the house, and secure my future that much more because I’m given a great opportunity. And because of that, I’m working 50+ hours a week at my government job busting my balls to make sure I’m not squandering my opportunity and especially not my parents’ kindness. If I worked 3 days in a month I couldn’t live with myself.

I was applying constantly for about 1 and a half months, at least 6 or 7 times a day. I heard back from only 4, none were realistic offers (55/75 k in either NYC or la, which is borderline insane to take) I recently got one for remote, 65 k, and I can start next week. It took me nearly 2 months to be even able to find an adequate job. All in all it took me to apply to around 200 or so positions, put my profile, work and portfolio and a variety of platforms and so forth. It can be done just put the effort.

I’m 27 too with a masters degree and unemployed. Can’t find a job and I’ve applied for thousands of jobs

I live at home at 31. I have a job, I pay rent, and pay utilities. Living at home at that age isn’t bad unless you don’t have any prospects whatsoever.

I am 27 and living at home. But I know I made some really bad mistakes. Mainly a drug addiction and enabling my abusive ex. But I’ve never been unemployed while living at home and I’m trying to make better choices (going back to school and learning how to cook for example) so I can pay off my debt and help out my parents since they’ve helped me.

As someone who hasn't applied for a job in over a decade I can't see myself going through this humiliation ritual. If I lose my income sources I'm just retiring and hoping for the best

yeah, I get it. I graduated just after the first housing crash 2009, and didn't have a proper job until 2016. I did some self-employment stuff, trade apprenticeship, substitute teaching, but it really sucks not being stable enough to afford your own place.

Not only applying on LinkedIn, but also connecting with and talking to at least 5 people who are either in the position you want or work in HR/recruiting at said company.
