Engineers are engineers even though they are not doing corporate work. The problem solving skills is embedded in their soul.

No skill is useless. It's you who didn't find an application for it

In MBA your college brand matters more than the degree l.

People saying their degree is useless as if they have 12 other talents that can make them enough money to sustain their life💀

If her exec mba costed 3.5lakhs only then she obviously did it as a distance learning course or from some random useless college which is anyway not going to give you any skill. Exec full time MBA costs a bomb and will give you a perspective which will help you lead and make informed decisions. And you will for sure get an opportunity to implement those acquired skills in corporate.

Depends from where you do it, how you do it and how you apply it. Some people come to drink, others only gargle....

An MBA for someone is useless, but for poor and middle class it is a lifesaver if it provides them even a basic paying job

MBA is not an insignificant skill. U did it from an improper institution.MBA is a life transforming course which not only instills skills within u, but also prepares u to bear the future impediments.

MBA for me too. Went to coachings for 2 years straight knowing stats and numbers aren't my strongest skill, my resume does not fit the requirements, had no relevant work experience, the syllabus for most b- schools made no sense except MBA in creative communication, design management strategy and media & entertainment and these courses aren't at most b-schools but at art, visual arts, design and music schools had these courses. The problem still remained stats and quant, mandatory and not my strength. Never had commerce in school. Despite stats, 14% people from humanities except economics and commerce in almost all b-schools in India. Most people i remember from school who took MBA were engineers or CA's. And most people i met during those years were BBA students.

Despite friends working corporate jobs, telling me, they have quit their jobs because the work is not mentally stimulating and feels more mechanical and draining despite the pay, job satisfaction for most of them was fairly low.

I still went around writing several exams, almost 30-40 over the duration of 2 years.
Never went to any b-school and over covid lockdown, did nothing for sometime instead of throwing my hands and legs everywhere. After much introspection over my impusive actions, realised MBA, the job, the stress, the work ethics, corporate environment don't fit my skillset. I felt so incapable, like i undermined my value and worth simply by choosing something i am not good at and aren't my strengths and i would eventually quit MBA.

Before i write further, i failed at politics too, by just maybe a percentage.Applied for a masters twice! Despite that, wrote NET thrice, pre-requisite for Phd, in India. The only part of my subject i loved was feminism. It comes naturally. So i oftwn get this, you should try a Phd.
Over the last few years spent time re-assessing my career goals, skillset.
Money is important but don't chase it to a point where you loose all sensibility or rationality over your decisions.
My parents are academicians, might have had their own vision of my future but not so relevant to my skills, strengths, interests which eventually showed in my performance.

Same. I also feel like i already have my skills. There's just so many steps, assignments, blah blah for a degree proof you're capable. Like when u go to work it's very simplified. Too much to compete and do to takw the degree, when work itself is simple only. Could do the job itself, its like paying people and doing more work for degree. Whereas job pays u back to support our future family
