“Here I am, here I remain” is pretty high up there in the list of final words.

I found this scene rather unsettling, Duke Atreides doesn't deserve this, he was a noble ruler, but lying there utterly defeated and even stripped naked in front of his enemies is such a violation of his dignity, worse still he died in tears thinking that his entire elite army has been decimated and his bloodline ended, when Paul was actually alive.

The detail of the Baron activating his shield before moving in to listen to Leto was a really nice touch.

I'm glad that this version of the Duke actually managed to nearly take the Baron with him. The two others(miniseries and Lynch)just have the Baron get away easily and it makes Leto's sacrifice seem next to meaningless. The fact that it nearly kills the Baron to the point that Harkonnen needs to take the weird bath to recover is epic.

I love this cause this was meant to humiliate Leto however instead the Baron endures the worst humiliation he had ever received in his entire life

I have to admit, I like how the Baron was cautious enough to raise his shield just before Leto bit down on the tooth. It granted a few precious extra seconds to allow the Baron to levitate himself above the gas before he would've flatlined.

You know, the way the baron slowly floats, and his white robes, all of it makes him look like a ghost.
Props to this movie for making a floating fat man look absolutely terrifying.

It's sad he dies thinking Jessica and Paul didn't make it.

When they saw the Baron's shield go up, everyone else REALLY should have turned theirs on too! 😂

I thought that Yueh’s throat was slit but looking closer at this scene…1:20 The Baron cuts his entire fucking head off…Jesus.

I like how with Leto's assassination attempt, he managed to kill Vries and a good chunk of Harkonnen Soldiers. Tho he didn't kill The Baron himself, he added insult to injury by killing some of his most loyal men.

The Barons instincts and decision making were spot on. He called the doctor a traitor and knew it was better to get rid of him than keep him alive, his instinct to activate the shield instead of what most arrogant people would do in his position, saved his life. Everyone else in that room except the Baron believed that the Duke was nolonger a threat. Alas, the two seemingly least dangerous proved to be the most leathal people in that room. Most important, the Baron knew this and made the right decisions.

This scene is so good for many reasons. One of my favorites is the apparent desire for dialogue between these two sworn enemies as the Baron risks his life to say, "What did you say?"

Man, oh man. I cannot wait to see the unholy vengeance that Muad'Dib unleashes onto House Harkonen and the Emperor Shaddam IV. It will be legendary.

One thing that was easy to miss: the Baron doesn't slit the throat of Yueh, he beheads him instead. You can hear how the body hits the floor. Beheading with just one hand while holding Yueh with the other - what a beast.

I personally think this scene is better in the movie. The sense of urgence and that the Baron actually almost died here makes Yueh's plan and Leto's final moments more remarkable. The motivations of Yueh are better explored in the book, though

Imagine the humiliation of this incident. The Baron, having exhausted much of his house's wealth, indebting himself to the Emperor, all to destroy his greatest Rival, and having him defeated and entirely at his mercy. Only for his rival, even paralyzed and unarmed, to lay him low and nearly kill him and to add insult to injury, his rival's house still endures after.

I like how the statement "with my last breath" fits well

he died alone, powerless, stripped away from his clothes and his dignity, and thinking that his whole family was dead.
