All I could hear is Scotty Kilmer screaming “endless money pit” and his laughters inside my head.

Sorry guys I see lot of "endless money pit" quotes. I am an Audi fan drove Japanese vernicles for 20 years and switched to Audi A5. It's a world of difference. I enjoy the cruising power, high speed stability and super smooth duel clutch 7 speed transmission. If you bitch about maintenance look for Japanese. If you are looking for enjoyment and satisfaction go for a premium German vehicle.

It’s not how much you pay for the car, it’s the cost of repairs and maintenance

when the Germans realised that they can sell crappy cars for a premium just by simply putting a shiny badge on the hood, they never looked back

Endless money pits. They are not built to last like the Mercedes in the 80's

Got my 2018 C class 1 year ago with 4040km for 15k euros less than the list price. Runs like a dream, maintenance every 25k km (i do it 2-3k km earlier) and it's cheap to run. Comes with 2 years warranty which can be extended to 5. Paid 350 euros for 8 L of oil, filters, brake fluid and all other fees included.
I'm nearly at 40k km and i don't have any reasons to complain. Haters gonna hate 🤣

I drove a beemer and a benz. The benz was far and above a better car. It was much nicer and a far better driving experience. I bought the benz and after selling it I miss that car and will get another. Don't think I could go below the E class.

If you act fake rich, you will retire real broke 😂

So if you can’t afford 5 of them, you can’t afford one of them ☝️

Why are used Mercedes cars so cheap ? Because ''they are endless money-pits as they age"
as Scotty Kilmer says.

I've owned a few older MB's...usually buy when they're around 80-90k miles...never had an issue....usually drive for 3 years and then sell...depreciation at that point is minimal. Actually totalled one after a couple years and got only $2000 less than I had paid. I don't buy C class.

Replacing the hood ornament costs us$30, not several hundred dollars as stated. It takes literally 5 minutes to install using a pair of pliars.

I've owned a few Mercedes Benz. Buy the dealers extended warranty. I paid $48, 000 for my 2017 S550e CPO in May. $5000 7yrs\100kmi. You have to haggle them and finance it all together for best results. Stay away from anything before 2012. My rule of thumb was dump it at 80k as they are set to detonate previous to the 2012 models.

Great video, but having been a Mercedes Benz employee for 8 years and have owned many since. So, why I/we only buy NEW Mercedes? 1) I want that experience and value of caring for my vehicle with regard to servicing and how it is driven since day 1. 2) No services are missed, never abuse the engine/transmission, careful about parking situations, and when not being driven, 3) our 3 Mercedes are garaged (always). 4) We don't smoke "anything" or eat fast food in our vehicles, 4) They get completely serviced when the service is due. We also enjoy a dealer-furnished loaner @ no charge while our Mercedes are being serviced. 5) The value of having full dealer support greatly adds to the value, confidence, and the Mercedes ownership experience. Without #5, it just wouldn't be the same.

So many times I have seen where a person buys a 3-4 year old MBZ, and they "service" it at "Jiffy Lube" or similar, which is essentially only an oil/filter change. Doing only this over a few years or more is inviting disaster, but yes, it is cheaper. Typically, those folks will sell that car to someone unsuspecting the poor service & other issues, so it becomes a nightmare for them. Same thing happens with BMW, Audi and Porsche. I owned a '77 930 Turbo and a tune-up could easily be $5K US. If you think that's bad, better not buy a big boat or an airplane, just sayin"

You need to buy a MB model which the most common in Europe with the most common powertrain, engine and transmission.
These will be the most reliable as it it is mass produced and tested by masses. This is true about any European car manufacture.
if you buy some exotic model, most likely it will have high maintenance cost and less reliable.
And this is where MB and BMW, and VW/Audi makes the most money, on reach people and people who want them after warranty.

Nothing like a brand new Benz. It is an experience that is unmatched in the car industry. I love my 2021 GLE 350.

It sounds like the big 3 are trapped in vicious cycle. Sounds unsustainable long term.

The msrp on which the lease is based on is over inflated. Making it seem like a great deal.
Even though it isn't. The market value is much less.

Thank you captain obvious. I have to disagree with you though on reliability. I have a 2015 S550 4matic that I purchased used in 2017 for 60% of sticker with 17K miles, they do in fact drop hard in value in the first few years but I have spent a total of 400 bucks on repairs outside of tires and brakes, and the brakes I did myself for around 600 bucks for front and back. These are rock solid cars that get a bad rap because of some of the older models. Ya, Toyotas are reliable but they suck on ride quality and overall experience.

I am on my 2nd one and never had any shock repairs. My CLK was special and i had it for 6 years, my 2013 C Coupe has been a joy to drive and no issues. I turned off all the gadgets. The newer Mercedes all look alike and Benz are just churning out cars to make more money.
