Brave vs Chrome. A small open-source browser vs the corporate heavyweight. In this video, I will solve the Brave vs Google Chrome debate once and for all. Let’s see which is the best: Brave or Chrome browser?

----------------------------------------
🔏 Brave vs Google Chrome: Which is more private?

So, Is Brave better than Chrome privacy wise? This is actually the part I love the most about Brave. This browser really takes privacy to the next level. I appreciate its ability to block third-party cookies and ads. It doesn’t even require my input, those things are default.
Where Google Chrome will collect a lot of data and make sure advertisements and search results I see are tailored to me specifically, Brave browser eliminates this bias. This is very important for transparency. In the same manner, where Google Chrome constantly collects search results and passes information to third parties, Brave does nothing of a sort. Moreover, with Brave browser you have an ability to endorse your favorite website, and there’s even a unique rewards system for interacting with unobtrusive ads, something I have not encountered before.

----------------------------------------
🖼️ Brave vs Google Chrome UI comparison

When it comes to Brave vs Chrome UI comparison, it’s hard to stay objective. On one hand, I really like Google Chrome’s default UI, and it gets even better when you realize it’s possible to use a variety of themes and visual overhauls to make it blend nicely with whatever system you use.
In a similar fashion, Brave is providing me with a lot of extra options for customization, which I found to be amazing. Moreover, even core sections of the browser can be removed, like the tab search button for instance. Don’t like it? Well off it goes! And if you are Linux user, Brave offers an option of enabling GTK themes, so the world is your oyster, redesign the browser however you like.

----------------------------------------
🏢 Proprietary vs Open-Source: Which is more trustworthy?

But, as much customization as there is, one thing you won’t ever be able to change: Brave is open source, and Google Chrome is proprietary. What that means is that Google Chrome is made behind closed doors, nobody can see the code or suggest changes in any way. On one side, that’s great - the code is safe, private, and protected from third-party influence. You’d think that, won’t you?
In fact, this also means that if Google wants to add new features compromising your privacy, or collect even more of your data - you won’t even know. That’s why Open-source projects like Brave are being taken in high regard. While Brave is based on Chromium, the same basis as Google Chrome, all of Brave’s code is available for any skilled coder to examine. This creates a strong community, dedicated to perfecting security and privacy elements of Brave, which I find fascinating. Is Brave safer than Chrome as a result? Not necessarily. After all, Chrome is designed by a team of professionals, in one of the biggest IT companies in the world. But is Brave more transparent and by proxy - trustworthy? In my opinion - absolutely.

ive gone from chrome to edge to firefox, back to edge, to operagx for a while, then to brave for over a year, then vivaldi for a month before i got fed up with it and back to brave simply because of the ease of use and the built in ad block actually works unlike most other browsers built in ad block

I also love it that brave allows me to play YouTube videos with my screen turned off on my android.

Brave does have multi-device sync capabilities. Settings -> Sync -> Create a sync chain or sync from existing one. I switched to Brave 2 months ago on all my devices and sync made my all extensions, passwords, bookmarks, Themes, etc. on all devices. Also if you make any changes extension settings, added new extensions, bookmark changes, they will be synced across all devices almost immediately. You can also send open tabs from one device to another with this sync chain which is cherry on top.

Best performance = Edge.
Slowest performance = Firefox.
Best privacy = Firefox and Brave.
Best non privacy = Edge.

Microsoft is nr.1 to collecting data but Google have second position.

I've switched from Chrome to Firefox to Brave to Edge to Chrome to Firefox to Brave again simply because Microsoft breaks things after an update causing Edge to not open, Firefox can't perform well on heavy sites, and Chrome has started to crash from recent updates. I'm not sure why I switched from Brave before, but it seems well polished and is recommended turning off a lot of the "Brave" extras. Opera GX seems gimmicky and not as performant.

i really like brave able to play youtube even with locked screen (phone). so i can play music on it. the problem is, as u said, comfort. the sync hassle is a bummer for me. and missing google app laucnher on the home screen, is a big hiccup for me.

Brave for personal- Edge for work- and Firefox for personal at work since its installed on all domain connected devices.
I want so badly to use Firefox as my daily driver but functionally its just silly when Brave exists. Brave works flawlessly and protects all my data by default.

What are your thoughts on whether a person who currently uses Google Chrome should switch to Brave?

Please tell me this. Did i hear you say we can indeed use our chrome extensions in Brave? Is it easy enough to ultimately get the chrome extensions onto my brave toolbar?
Thanks!
