This is making me wonder if the meaning of "agreeableness" in the context of the big 5 does not match its meaning in general language.

To me, "agreeableness" is entirely a manner of how you present yourself to others, whereas "kind", "trustworthy", and "empathetic" are words that are meant to reflect the actual self.

An agreeable person can certainly *appear* kind, trustworthy, and empathetic, but that doesn't mean that they actually are. Agreeableness can be a manipulation strategy.

I prefer people who disagree, because then it opens discussions, or you can ask why they think that; even figure out if they are paying attention. people who agree all the time it’s hard to tell if they actually care or just want the convo to end. You never actually know what they really like, or what they think sometimes. Being agreeable can be good but only if it’s true, if it’s not it feels kind of.. rude? 😅

Nobody's perfect, Although some seem to act like saints ( with their openness ) like celebrity chef Jamie Oliver ( although he's recently blocked me on Twitter for a trivial reason that we could have briefly chatted in DMs about ) .
