I find it incredible that I’ve only been exposed to this type of thinking for the last few years. It’s a major crime that we weren’t taught this stuff when we were 10 years old.

Sam changed my life 10 years ago when I read his first book. Now I've read them all, listened to every podcast, watched pretty much every video on youtube of him, and I can't wait for him to write another book actually. Such an inspiration. I could never thank him enough.

Acceptance of misery is the biggest self abuse of them all

As an empath with low self-esteem, life for too long has been about coping with suffering. Mindfulness has been the key to improving my self-esteem enough to begin to heal.

Who would have thought that anxiety and excitement are the same physical feeling with a different framing, the narrative we are telling ourselves. That in itself is the game changer. I am so glad I re-discovered Sam Harris today. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful video.

It’s amazing how well Sam Harris puts into words what I often think. His words are so illuminating and potent that it really changes my thinking every time I listen to him.

I have heavy anxiety today and this guided meditation made me cry. I don't even know why or what happened, but apparently I really needed this. Thanks, Sam. ❤

Sam Harris and Jourdan Peterson have had a profound effect on my life. Its hard to define or explain, nor can I place some material value to it. Simply some of the most important substance in my mind.

Reframing to consider all the bad stuff that you're NOT going thru is the beginning of cultivating gratitude.

That was wonderful. I'm putting that on my desktop.

He's absolutely right. I'm stranded in the uk awaiting for some decision about my visa, working long hours, nearly three years without seeing my family and I still wake up being grateful and thankful every morning because life is a gift and no pebble on my way will deflect my thoughts from the blessings I being given.
My main remedy is smile to life, pray and eat as healthy as I can.
People are deceived by social media and all this unfair comparisons but more than anything people don't try to see any silver line of being here.

I am happy to see that Sam Harris read about our Upanishads (written in 800 BCE) of Indian Philosophy where it was written, discussed and prescribed "CONTROL OF THOUGHTS IS LIBERATION" and later Gautama, the Buddha taught people how to achieve Equanimity of Mind. Kudos to Sam for preaching the advice of age old ancient Indian sages.

I can attest to the fact that mindfulness helps with public speaking anxiety. Though i didn't even medidate. You just need to learn to kind of acknowledge your anxiety without trying to make it go away or wanting to flee from it and without considering it as a bad or shameful thing, because the want to flee from it is what then makes it worse and uncontrollable instead of when you simply accept it.

It took me 15 years of mindfulness to become happy. The one single idea the set me going was that your feelings are based on thoughts, so if you can change your thoughts, you can change your feelings. Everything that Sam says here it perfectly aligned with the conclusions I have myself come to the past 20 years or so, and that I try to pass on to others.
