I took photos on my iPhone 11 and uploaded them to pc. I didn't realise they were HEIC files until I wanted to upload one from pc onto Twitter. But, all I needed to do was open the photo in Windows 10, click Edit & Create, click Edit, click Save a Copy. I renamed the photo and Windows 10 automatically saved it as a JPG. End of problem and no need to download or use any external (virus carrying) software.
