ACCEL's new Ford Modular Super Coils fit every year of Mustang with a Modular engine - from a 4.6L 2-Valve GT to a GT500 with a 5.4 Supercharger; to a 6.8L Truck, to the new 5.0L Coyote. We put the ACCEL Super Coils to a stiff dyno test on a 2004 Mustang.

If I knew the power gains were solid I would grab these for my 4.6L. Got 173K miles on the clock so any COP would give me something as they are original. Cool stuff and an easy bolt on for sure.

I got a set of these after my factory coils started failing and causing misfires after about 125k miles. Did sparkplugs at the same time (old ones were extremely overgapped). Ran fine after. Nice and smooth. Mostly went with these for the price vs. the Motorcraft ones. I did like the look of the yellow tops too though.

The dyno accounts for air changes via an SAE correction, but the temperature had virtually no change since the install was so quick.

Fuk that I only go with Mallory Ignition

Well shit!
Ofcorse new coils will give better results than used parts. What if any difference do performance coils deliver compared to new OEM?

Why can’t I find any videos of them testing a 4 valve naturally aspirated 4.6???!!

i have a 2001 f150 5.4 harley davidson supercrew model and i have a cyl 4 misfire. ive read that is a common problem so im going with motorcraft plugs. however ive been doing research on top of research about the coil pack sets. at autozone or other parts stores they want from 50 to 65 bucks per pack. duralast makes a set of 8 for 250 but online order only. shopped amazon and ebay and found packs of 8 coil packs for 50 bucks. now cheap isnt always good and per all the reviews, which were mixed, id say thats not a bang for your buck. then i come across the accel brand. my local jegs store stocks the multipack of 8 for $203 plus tax so thats what i have decided upon. im excited to put these in. in the meantime before i do im driving my truck like an old scared granny because i want no damage to occur and because of reasons im not willing to explain i have to wait about a week before i can do the install on these coil packs and plugs. im just hoping the truck lasts a week. hell i just replaced my pass side exhaust manifold due to a broken bolt and now i have the random misfire issue. anyway its gotta be done and i figure before i put the drivers side exhaust manifold on i better do the tuneup (should never replace just one manifold, the other will eventually rust to pieces to) thanks for the review of these accel coil packs. it sucks they only have a 1 yr warr but ive heard and read good things about them and if i save and clean up my other good remaining coil packs at least i will have some spares just in case. thanks again for the video. got me pumped to do the job

What's your 1/4 mile? I have the exact same car with the exact same mods. Except my cool yellow coils were 37.99 on amazon (Precision Auto Labs - DANGER LETHAL VOLTAGE) I think you sold me on the Accels unless I can find evidence that the MSD blasters are significantly better.

That's probably because the old COP's were tired.

I'm kind of curious why the numbers are so low. Has there been a tune at all on this car? Accounting for drive train loss it's like you havnt picked up anything with all the other tack

Well duh with all those mods it's gonna give a better boost in power gains vs just a cold air intake

Did the dyno #s account for different air? Probably not
