I have a feeling if Dr Mike went to Joe Rogan's podcast it would be 99% about weed and shrooms and 1% fitness

In addition to hard work and discipline, Joe has been on “TRT” and GH for 20 years.

I'm from Italy, and I can confirm that I can eat 2 million calories worth of pasta, gelato and tiramisù every second and NOT gain any weight whatsoever

Remember that time Theo Von said that Joe Rogan with his shirt off looked like a turkey 🤣🤣🤣

One thing people forget about Europeans is we walk a lot. Our cities and towns are built for walking so we get so many steps on without even thinking about it.

I'm Italian and I can say we just eat smaller portion than Americans for sure, and we don't use those high calories sauces, we eat our pasta most of the time with a simple tomato sauce, so very low in fat and also calories.

not gonna lie, i felt numb for months. like i was just surviving, not really living. then someone dropped Testosterone Rewired by David Brooks in a yt comment and i gave it a shot. bro… this book gave me my edge back. not by yelling at me to hustle, but by showing me how to fix my foundation. life hits different now.

Can we have a Jiujitsu match between Dr Mike and Joe Rogan?

I eat pasta basically every day and am 185lb~ at 14% bodyfat ( per last checkup ).

It's just like any other food, the amount is what matters.
Plus the average person in Italy, while not fit by gym standards, is fairly healthy and with low average bodyfat%.

I appreciate the line "the position is the goal." I've lost 100lbs with 67lbs left to go and it's crazy what exercises I couldn't do because of my body that I can now do.

One "hack" I use for filling tasty food is substituting half a thing.

For instance, if I make a fried rice dish instead of 1 cup of rice, I use half a cup the add 2 cups of finely chopped cabbage.

The volume gets INSANE and cuts the carbs in half while giving you a ton of fiber.

My fried rice dish I make is usually 60g protein and about 35ishg Carbs.

Joe is a classic case of someone who knows enough to form an opinion but not enough for it to be accurate or reliable. A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing

15:15 The 2 biggest factors about Italians are:
1. They just spend allot more time preparing the food and make eating a big cultural thing with family. This results in them spending less time eating.
2. They walk everywhere. You try driving in an Italian village.
They walk more and eat less.

I really appreciate Dr. Mikes moderate approach to dieting and drugs like Ozempic. Its really easy to just say Ozempic bad; but to actually take the time and have a real world approach to why these things work and when they can be useful is so refreshing

The thing about Italy, Joe, isn't that the food is less caloric (though we aren't comparing the average diet here, only the average pasta), it's the lifestyle that's healthier on a whole - they use less cars, walk more, etc.; that includes a better diet on average too... This means that their average diet and activity are gonna make less people fat, but the pasta specifically isn't that different.
