How to Make Your Own Eye Shadow: Pressed Gel-to-Powder Eye Shadow

Make your own sensory eyeshadow with this gel to powder recipe! This eyeshadow feels like a gel but goes on like a velvety smooth powder. The secret ingredient making this silky soft eyeshadow look and feel amazing is dimethicone, which also helps this eyeshadow stay smooth and beautiful never caking in the creases of the eye area. You can use the colors we chose or choose your own color creation.

Equipment You’ll Need
• Food processor
• Scale
• Spatula
• 5 gram makeup jar or another packaging appropriate for eyeshadow. You could even recycle old eyeshadow containers

Directions
1. Add ingredients to the food processor in the order listed above.
2. Mix until fully blended. You may need to scrape the sides of the food processor with a spatula and mix again to fully blend.
3. Press blended eyeshadow into makeup jar or another container to make a compact gel
4. Enjoy your new eyeshadow!

I feel like this formulation wouldn’t sit well on the eye. Adding water to an eyeshadow, without an emulsifier, and adding glycerin is asking for it to pull away from the lid as most eyelids are naturally oily. I appreciate the attempt to lessen the types and amount of ingredients, but I don’t think it worked in this application
