Great tips Hayley! So glad I have found your channel, we need more Aussie content rather than the usual US based "I walked the PCT" stuff. Thanks for posting and giving Aussie hikers something decent to watch!

A dry bag pillow, . what a great idea. I never thought that there would be anything like that around.

One thing worth mentioning is to let everyone in your hiking group know where you packed your plb and first aid kit in case there is an emergency

This video was the most helpful packing a backpack video I’ve found! I have several packs, but one in particular can hold the most accessories. I’ve been trying to find a way I can pack it for a combination of backpacking and fishing. Every time I’ve tried, the pack doesn’t sit right. But your idea of counter balancing makes so much sense I’m going to give it a try. And you are the only YouTuber that I’ve seen even mention the counter balancing with the heavy objects.

That thumbnail is giving me major deja vu, I've definitely sat on that exact wooden table and walked through the tree's at 00:14... By any chance is it on a trail between two bodies of water that goes over a man's chair overlooking a flower petal?

Thanks so much. This explains so much better than all the other 100 videos I've watched 😂🔥

Thanks for this video, everything makes perfect sense how you pack it. Looking forward to more dehydrated food videos, you look like you always have something yummy to eat on trail!

I don’t have ultralight gear, but I’m gonna give this a try. Thanks.

I like the vertical organization of your sleep system in to your pack. I never thought of that, thanks.

Enjoyable video. Great ideas. I have orange paracord ties on my first aid containers. I generally hike and camp with a quarter staff with an adaption of a hunting arrow in case of predators, which I have encountered.

Great tips. I generally prefer to have the sleeping pad a bit lower so it doesn't snag if bush whacking. It can still bump into things lower, but around the hips it often feels like it throws you off balance less.

Your tent is at the bottom but it will be the first thing you need when reaching camp. I see many people doing this but never understood it. Get a pack where you can lash it to the outside/rear bottom. This also leaves more interior space for long food carries.

Thanks Hayley, I never thought of standing the sleeping bag upright in the pack, will try it and see if it helps

Was going on a hike this weekend, turned from a two day hike to a one day hike. But I will remember this video for summer and vacation! :D

Great video! I’ve seen the how to pack a pack graphic so many times but I think that was the first time I’ve seen someone actually demonstrate it…nice touch showing the liner separate as well. What pack was that?
