Hi from Brazil! I noticed that organizing the backpack is as important as adjusting. I realized that it was the internal organization that caused me some problems. It's really good to keep an eye on it. Bye

Thank you. Trekkit is fast becoming my go to channel for valuable advice on all things hiking, camping, etc. Great content that I'm happily sharing with my friends as well.
Keep up the great work.

Really awesome! Big fan of the Osprey Kestrel as a day pack and for short travels!

Waterproof overtrousers and gaiters in the big front stretchy pocket for quick access.

Anker powerbank and other electrical in a dry bag near the centre back.

Add a couple of carbine hooks on the outside loops to dry off wet socks et al whilst hiking to the next camp.

Loads of flapjacks and cereal bars in the hip belt pockets too. 😀

I love my Osprey water bladder to drink from. It’s very convenient but a real pain to refill later in the day. I have to unpack half the rucksack to get it back in.

I always put my tent in the bottom zipped compartment then it's easy to get out without emptying your pack in bad weather also you can pack up in your tent then drop the tent and put it in the bottom while all your kit is inside your pack

I always have a giggle at these people with these Osprey (and similar) packs when they have to cross bodies of water.. It only took a few instances of having to drag my load-out across rivers and lakes in the Army Reserve to know that once I finished up, I would never take a non-waterproof bag on my personal travels, considering the places I usually end up.. To answer your possible question as to what bag I use, it's the Caribbee Trident 2.0 32L waterproof bag, inside which I have luggage organisers so I don't have to pull the whole bag apart when I want something from the bottom of the bag.. I have also used it as a floatation device when the shitty small boat I was on in Thailand capsized. The people I was with who had bags like this one simply had to watch their electronic belongings get drenched, and/or watch them sink to the bottom of the ocean by the time the second boat arrived 5 minutes later to collect us..

Hi, I am interested as to the contents of your First Aid Kit, is it one you have made up yourself?

Does women's packing weight distribution differ than men's?

No matter how you pack the bag, it feels heavy after an hour climbing hills...especially when you're more than 65 yo.

You don't want the weight at the bottom of the L going out. It will be dragging you backwards the whole time. You actually want the L upside-down. Heavy stuff close to your back and on top. NOT on bottom.

What size rucksack were you using there?

so you have to pull every thing out of the rucksack to get to your tent flysheet - WRONG - go ask any real camper how to do it
