How we pack our backpacks and what it all weighs!

This #short shows how we pack our backpacks for overnight trips and how it all adds up to right around 9 lbs. This is our "generic" list. For specific trips, we often add items such as extra water bottles or we swap out the tarp for a tent, which often makes the total closer to 10 lbs. I love how precise the weight measurements are so that it’s fairly distributed between the both of you! The thing that tips the scale towards Tim is probably the cooking gear, but she has all the toiletries and other stuff in her bag that he doesn’t. Y’all be doin the damn thing, go offf

Wow! My bag for DofE was around 15kg (33lbs) (before I handed off the poles for our tent to someone with a 9kg (19lbs) bag) and that was only for two days- it’s incredible how you pack everything you need but still keep it light!

Most my backpacking trips I had a 25 lb. base. Granted I only hiked 10-25 miles.
That is very impressive.
