Dr. Gundry counts down the 5 worst things that YOU can do for your liver health. Dr. Gundry then gives you some of the best things that you can do to protect and keep your liver healthy.

Were any of these surprising to you? Let us know in the comments,

We’re also going to talk about why your liver doesn’t work the way many people think it does—and why those popular detox cleanses could actually be more dangerous than beneficial. While the idea of "flushing out toxins" sounds good, detoxes can often do more harm than good when it comes to liver health. Instead, I’ll be sharing some foods and supplements that can naturally support your liver and keep it functioning at its best.

00:00 - Why your liver is so important
01:30 - The Worst things for your Liver
14:30 - Things that can help your liver

But that's not all! We’ll cover how common habits like binge drinking and overuse of medications like Tylenol can seriously affect your liver’s ability to function properly. Plus, we’ll discuss whether certain so-called "health boosters" like green tea extract are really as good for your liver as they claim to be—or if they might actually cause harm.

If you’re looking to better understand the liver, avoid the biggest pitfalls, and learn what truly supports this vital organ, you won’t want to miss this episode!

Thank you, my daughter needs a liver. Upon watching another video she was convinced to make a fruit detox.. I know better and now after watching this she will too.

Foods high in trans fats, like fried fast food, can harm liver health by increasing fat buildup. Sugary foods and beverages, especially sodas, overload the liver with fructose, leading to fatty liver. Excessive alcohol is also a major cause of liver damage, leading to cirrhosis over time.

Greater video! Thank you, Doc.

I take all of these supplements, green tea extract, borage or evening primrose oil, meriva turmeric. And I did so for around 20 years. My liver enzymes are like that of a baby (despite of doing a lot of partying and drinking throughout some of these years). Have never taken tylenol or paracetamol or these type of medications. I also love lindenflower tea which is very hepatoprotective.

Stay away from fruit and continue intermittent fasting- 16 hours. Mix a little dandelion in your salad. But what is a good substitute for Tylenol and ibuprofen when there's kind of a little emergency and people need something to ease the pain and major painful inflammation, back pain, shoulder pain etc?

Thank you dr. Gundry! I’ve learned a lot from your book and videos. I really need a good food sensitivity test. Any advice please? I made one couple years ago but it was unreliable. Time to get another, but a good one. Thank you!

Thank you Dr. Gundry for the enlightenment. I wonder if calamansi skin has limonene (sp?). I have begun to enjoy it before meals because mosquitoes don't bite me. I take it to prevent using deodrant since it hurts my underarms and discolor them.

Wow, wonderful gifts of information here. I new of the benefits of milk thistle, but you explain how, when and why it works, along with a host of other bits to help put the mitochondria and metabolism puzzle pieces together. Thank you so very much.

Hi Dr. Gundry - thanks for all your videos. I found your comments on Colloidal AG very interesting. For myself, having used it to effectively treat food poisoning and UTIs, for well over a decade w/ no side effects, i found your remarks regarding clotting surprising - the first i have ever heard of in fact. Now, to clarify, i have only used a specific brand of the silver (and do not doubt other inferior brands could cause blue skin) and i don't use it frequently, such as on a weekly or monthly basis. i only use a couple of teaspoons as needed for the above issues and it works remarkably well; and unlike most antibiotics, bacteria will not become resistant to it. It sorta reminds me of a conversation i had w/ a retired dr. friend of mine who says vit. C isn't effective against viruses (smh) Well, for someone who has used a specific type (which is key) and the right dosage, it's highly effective. Anyway, thanks for all the good content!

I use ionic Copper. Its anti-bac and anti-viral. For skin only! I have Polycystic Liver Disease (its rare on its own!) I've ordered NAC now. I only eat X1/day. So liver has++ downtime! PS I live in the UK.

Very good video, but there are a couple of things I would like to get clarification on. When you talk about the odds of CVD being linked to joint replacement, is this saying that the actual surgery is somehow a causative factor in heart disease? Or is it more like, if one had surgery and continued with the same type of diet, this would later manifest as cvd? The other thing is whether you could talk a bit more about osteoarthritis, since this is the most common problem people have. Is there anything more to say about this, or is it considered just another manifestation of leaky gut?
