Thank you so much, I got lucky. My device was lost in the house and still connected to wifi. As soon as I typed in Find My Device on the google link it started playing music on my tablet which had the sound turned all the way up! I was lucky because I laid it down in a closet that was filled with stuff for years and was being cleaned out then a bunch of stuff being kept was placed on top of it to remain for another decade!!! I would have never found it until then! Again thanks!

Does this work to reset the device if it doesn't work? I have an Ellipsis 8 tablet and for some reason after the ellipsis screen it goes black and doesn't show version.... Does the erase option fix that?

ok here's 1? would if the device has been factory reset will I still be able to have access to the gmail account ? right now I'm trying to log into my email and my password isn't working. see I dont care about the device being lost or stolen, I just need access to my stuff I had saved in the device will I still be able to recover that. emails address and phone numbers? when I log into the desktop?
