Thank you for this tutorial. My friend had his laptop stolen and I used this Microsoft feature. Unfortunately, this feature can only show you the last location if the laptop is connected to the internet. My friend had his laptop locked, but there is still an option to connect to the internet without unlocking it. However, the thiefs should be kind of stupid to do that, and unfortunately, I can see the last location still before being stolen. So this wasn't that useful for us.
