If Meruem won, we’d probably get an epic Gungi tournament

I feel like the hunter association would know pretty quickly that Mereum won. Then the V6 would find out and at that point i'm pretty sure nukes will be dropped since they're obviously already well aware of the threat. I doubt anyone other than Mereum might survive a single one let alone several.

Good video, but 2 counter-points:

1) The V5 already knew the danger the ants pose if they are not exterminated. If the invasion failed and the Rose had no poison, they'd likely immediately act to mobilize all the forces of humanity. Meruem wouldn't be able to take anyone by surprise.

2) The Rose may not have had poison, but it was still devastating enough to blow ( weaker version ) Meruem to bits and nearly kill him for good, and it was described as a "compact and low-budget" device. Besides the fact that humanity may have hundreds or more of those bombs in stock, they could easily have higher yield weapons too, maybe even specially designed large-scale weapons to take out the ants. Meruem MIGHT be able to evade any future attack by himself, but he cannot have his army escape those. He'd be by himself in a desolate post-apocalyptic world by the end, if he wasn't gonna be taken out by poison from other devices.

given how "cheap" was the bomb in Netero presented, I feel like the world governments have FAR more dangerous weapons, and they wouldn't mind obliterating a country with 5 million persons to stop world domination by Meruem, he would just die later by a bigger nuke.

He would get Rose'd. The entire point of the Rose is to illustrate that Meruem never had a chance at any kind of actual world domination

As netero said, don't underestimate human's ability to evolve

Alluka would take him out, but at what cost. Seems like a lose lose.
I'd also love to see a war between Meruem and Ant Gyro. That would also be a crazy scenario.

Edit: Given how public Meruem would be, there would be lots of information on him. Rihan's predator would also take him out. The ability specifically made to counter his target. If his target is Meruem, the King will literally have to fight something designed to devour him.

Two issues.
1) The hunter association, and the various nations, would be aware that Meruem is alive, and would presumably immeadiatly take action.
2) While people like the Zoldyck family aren't heroes, they do need humanity to survive for their business to thrive. And they're aware of this. Similarly, the battleclown would probably not be happy with the human preserve and realize that if he wants to continue having fun, meruem needs to be taken down.
So you'd probably see some weird combo of Zoldyck's, Spiders, battleclowns, and licensed hunters team up on meruem, each for their own reasons.

Honestly. As someone just getting into the manga as I've reached the end of the anime. It would be so interesting to see Meruem go to the dark continent. If it's as deadly as it's said to be for humans, I would love to see him just have a field day.

Dude, fuck nen the whole point of it was that Meruem understood nothing of humanities malice, and would just get nuked. The rose was just a cheap bomb, humanity in that world has way worse up their sleeves, and even if they didn't they would eventually synthesize poison to kill him anyway. Meruem wouldn't stand a chance against people willing to destroy themselves. Which also tied in to Gon vs Pitou. The ants stood no chance from the beginning, that's why Meruem dying was tragic and beautiful at the same time as he realised none of it mattered but his love for Komugi and that he was destined to die with Komugi.

Nen abilities are too varied and broken. Nanika for example - Killua can have wishes granted at no cost, and the complete obliteration of Meruem would be easy, especially considering that Meruem would have no prior knowledge of Alluka/Nanika's existence or abilities.

I doubt Post Rose Bomb Meruem would seek world domination and use humans as a lifestock as he intended before his fight with Netero, especially after remembering Komugi which sealed his fate and made the human part in him take over. He might even turn against Chimera Ants to protect humans like what Ikalgo and Meleoron did. He wouldn't be obsessed with power and world domination anymore and would likely try to find an isolated island somewhere to settle in and live the rest of his life with Komugi and maybe fight some special humans now and then for fun and that would be it.

How delightful, a new video as soon as I open YouTube

However there is Nanika.
It is unknown how limited It abilities are, but we could guess they would try to capitalize this power at some stage.

And while your hypotethical scenario stated that the nuke did not have poison in it, on a later stage humans would go full gardening carpetbomb the area, planting plenty of roses...

And even before this I am sure there is some protocol with the Hunter Association, because while we know the ants are a big threat, it was not unknown.
First we had Kite, whos job was to extreminate the ants (or keep them in controll? cant recall his original job)

The intel was given that there is an Ant Queen present and the threat was known that a high level hunter was killed.
Thats why they sent Netero and 5 people altogether.
And we know theres been numerous lookout hunters around the area because their job was to isolate the area completely.
Knwoing the Extermination Team failed would definitely trigger some defcon protocol, possibly instantly carpetbombing the area, or calling all hunter + army to the area.

Look, they already had a "summon all hunters" to a mere chairman election vote, they could use the same for the hxh equivalent of a BusterCall...

While this is quite a world building plothole in HxH, but keeping nen as a "hidden world" troupe was one of the main thing.
On a world threat like that, the world could shift into a different direction:
- reveal the existence of nen
-not just recruit and train nen users but straight give as basic education (nen-civil war is unlikely, but not impossible, but Im sure humanity would have a common enemy at this point)

The ants don't technically have to eat humans it's kind of like one of those scenarios where you can either eat a cake that was made by a chef or a cake from Walmart that got thrown on the ground

Meruem fighting live in Heavens Arena gives me a lot of Cell Game vibes, which is ironic considering that Meruem is pretty openly inspired by Cell.

Even when considering Meruem's potential, I don't see him being able to reach the necessary power-scaling qualifications to defeat the rest of his opposition. Meruem's speed, ability to fly & use energy blasts would still be pretty devastating in a one-on-one fight. However, his existence was known. So, he will not be given a favorable scenario. It seemed like his downfall was inevitable. Meruem had great character development, though. He didn't need to be a straight-up world conquering villain.

While I loved the thought experiment, I feel like there was this underlying assumption that no organization or country anywhere would ever take pre-ememptive or coordinated action against the ants. We've seen in human history with world war 2 that once it becomes apparent someone is genuinely taking on a quest for world domination countries come together to resist it. I can't imagine this being less true in a world full of superhumans, let alone superhumans WITH nukes and government

Big question that I didn't see anybody ask, wouldn't Meruem eat Pitou's body as well to not lose Pitou's super useful nen hatsus? SPECIALLY after having experienced almost losing Komugi to a simple stray attack, having access to puppet manipulation and puppet healing is just way too important to not get back by eating Pitou's remains.
