Format USB Hard drive to ExFAT to transfer large files MAC

***DISCLAIMER*** This method may not work for you anymore. I have seen a few comments that seem to suggest that perhaps newer versions of macOS or the like have changed things around. This may not work for you, so viewer discretion advised! Here I show how to reformat your thumb drive (or hard drive) to ExFAT format so that you can transfer larger files to it.

Fantastic advice. Other websites led me to Handbrake, Tuxera etc, hugely complicated ways to either reduce the size of video files or reformat the thumb drive. Your method is easy and already available on Mac. Thanks.

Just had to say thank you. Was about to use Handbrake to reduce size of video, which was 6gb. Would of taken 4 hours.
