Instead of putting the tag end through that loop between the line and the hook, put it through the loop at the bottom you made, and pull tight. Makes for a much tighter and stronger line

serious question is it a problem if i use a palomar knot for everything? obviously not tying line to my reel with it or line to line but is there a problem with tying on all my lures with it?

One more loop in at the end adds extra strength to the knot. The material been used is also important for instance if using nylon friction could snap the knot so wet it with your fingers

I have been saltwater fishing. An this hook will come loss, but when you put your line through the eye of hook, tie a knot in the end then rap it as demstration an it is know way to come untied. Thank for sharing

The snell knot to tie a fish hook is the best knot hands down
Don’t know exactly what you call this knot but I could definitely see it failing

Also, this knot is great. But just a little tip, since it’s a straight J hook a single Uni knot, improved clinch, loop knot etc would be more presentable being a straight hook. Once you get the angled eyed hooks that would be when you use the snell knot. Keeps it straight.
