This knot is great for drawstrings. It works well on basketball shorts, sweat pants, and swim trunks. It’s also good to tie your scrubs. Like and subscribe if you found this video helpful. Visit my shop at AwesomeForSale. Thanks!

30 years as a nurse have been making bunny ears on my nursing scubs which constantly get loose and I finally found a way to keep my pants up. Thank you.

Nice and to-the-point vid man. Other YouTubers would spend 20 minutes showing us that.
We appreciate the lack of bs.👍

Dang 37 years on the earth to find that there is a more efficient way than the old bunny ears method my mom showed me as a kid! Love it.

So, it's probably good to get in the habit of being specific about how the knot is properly tied, so that what you do is useful and safe as a bend, a loop, and as a binding knot.

IMPORTANT: The right side bend needs to be shaped as shown, with the "working end" on top. If you shape it with the working end on the bottom, this knot will not stay tight with many line materials. See Wikipedia article on right/wrong ways to tie the Lapp bend ("unsafe Lapp bend variant").

I've literally just attempted this on my shorts but failed due to being too fat to see the knot.

Had to slow the video down to half speed and got it. Great tip.

Took classes in the Army on knot tying. Has served me well all of my life.

A clockwise twist of the left hand's piece by the right hand starts the knot better for my hands. Yes, the rest of the knot needs to reflect the start. Each subsequent step is more natural and working the finished knot is as well.

Thanks for the suggestion OP, couldn't have done it without you.

I have been wearing my gym shorts for about 15 years. No need to even tie them up anymore as they are already way WAY too tight now lol

The one thing I learnt today that I will never forget for the rest of my life.

That's a slipped lapp knot, which is an opened eskimo bowline which is a bowline made around the loop end. It's also topologically identical with the mooring hitch.

I have a method of my own and it is very usefull if u hate when the chord gets offset and one end stays inside the hole.
You can tie both ends of the string with a double fishermans knot and you can make it tight or lose at will but it always stays connected.
