Bought a Ping G425 from golfbidder and it’s made a huge difference to my game. I genuinely smile when walking past the spot my ball used to land and looking down the fairway to where it finishes now. More fairways hit and greater distance, all adding to greater confidence.

After 20+ years away from golf I spent this year getting back into it. I invested in some new clubs and I have to say the most surprising purchase was the Ping G425 5-wood. That club has been an absolute round-saver with impressive distance and accuracy (73% on the fairway according to the Arccos app). Like Pete says, that is THE fairway wood without a doubt.

Like a lot of seniors out there we enjoy the antics of the three musketeers (yourself, Rick and Matt). However even though your tests and reviews are very thorough and honest, I, like many others have found them to be very ageist. I haven't seen any reviews on Hybrid irons, many of us have very slow swing speeds so we tend to go for the very forgiving types of clubs. A few years ago I bought a set of Cleveland HB3's (4 - P/W) on a recommendation from a club pro. These have been very helpful for me, even with a slow swing I get to enjoy the game again. It would be informative to myself and other older people what clubs like these are on the market and rate them like you do the others.

Great choices. I went for Sim2 max for driver, G425 for fw & hybrid, Apex21 for irons, Mizuno T22 for wedges and Mizuno Mcraft V for putter. Just bought them with min 30% discount during black week. First upgrade of clubs in 12 years.

Thanks again Pete for another great review of the year. I bought new clubs for the first time in 20 years and it is as a result of your reviews that I knew the sort of thing I was looking for. I tested the Ping driver and fairway wood but felt they were a little too much to spend for the amount of times I play and have ended up with the Ping 410 and Ping G fairway wood both in mint condition second hand. Just as you have said I’m delighted and they are performing brilliantly. Also tried the Cobra Supernova at the ISPS Handa International this year and decided I really like the fang style putter so have swapped my old Scotty Cameron for an odyessy works 7 which has made a big difference. Appreciate all the honest and straight forward advice.

Hi Pete, have you tried (or going to try) the new Inesis putter lineup? i see they have a few more premium ones out at the sub £100 mark; mallet, mid mallet and blade. Be interesting to see what they are like!

Absolutely banging analysis of the fairway woods! 🤣

I'm still a beginner and I'm using the Inesis 100 set and a fat blade putter ( always Inesis ) with which I'm frankly getting along quite well, but even if I don't think I'll be buying new clubs anytime soon ( I'd like to lower my handicap first and above all learn well all the various types of shots ) I find really useful the way you do the reviews, the fact of comparing the new models with the old ones: for someone at my level it's really nice to have someone who explains things as you do.
Thanks Peter!

p.s.: sorry for my other comment on this video... 😅

Hey pete, love the channel! You're the reason, along with Rick shiels, that I started golf at 15, and now I've got my first handicap! 18 is a bit high, but plenty of time to get it down! Just wanted to say a massive thank you. Love the channel, I'm a numbers nerd so love all the launch monitor stuff!

Going in for a my first fitting and a full bag fitting at that next month, once the new driver start coming. Super excited for it but I think what I’m mostly excited for is seeing is what fairway wood I end up with and really hope it’s the Ping 425. They are just amazing looking and really hope they preform amazingly for me.

I like this shorter style of club overview -- thanks for sharing as always Pete!

Hi Pete... agree with you on the TM P790 irons... I bought the new Titleist T100S and was not happy with them after waiting years for a Titleist iron to replace my 917AP. After a couple of months I couldn't resist testing the P790 2021 and loved them... more forgiving and easier to hit. Just better for me.... single figure hcp at Titirangi in NZ... come on down and join us one day next year.

Made my first hole in one with the 2019 Taylormade P790's. Best feeling of a club ever, when you pure it. It had a high towering ball flight and went in with a single hop of backspin.. backwards. P Wedge. can't imagine I would need more spin than that. Distance control is SO consistent. Really gives me confidence on tight landing areas.
Glad you enjoyed them too Peter 😁

Love how you included off brands! There is a lot of great clubs made at 1/2 the price, which is great for golf!

This was a great video. It would be interesting if you and Rick did a video together and compared your selections for 2021. I myself have always bought used clubs until this year where I splurged on PXG 0311-XP irons, a Srixon ZX5 driver, and Ping G425 5, 7, and 9 woods.

PF, super selection. Particularly like the mention of Edel wedges (their putter range is off the charts good too!) But, irons... So, I recently, on a whim, ordered a set of Haywood Signature irons ---to my exact specs--- and they are in the bag. The previous residents-of-the-bag, Miz JPX 921 Forged are now in the travel bag. The lofts aren't jacked and the build quality is superb. If you're looking at the TM 790's, well...go for the half priced Haywood Signature. And yup, I have the Ping G410 plus and recently added two G425 fairways. Always glad to have confirmation bias!

I filled my bag with Pings at the beginning of the season. G425Max Driver, G425 Irons and the G425 3W, 4W. Handicap dropped from 22 to 16.9. I'm a Ping guy now!

I love the look of the Callaway Jaws because they are obviously a shaftless wedge. Yep, shaftless. See video at exactly 2:21. It’s awesome.

Pete, great content as always. How are you liking your T100s irons? I just went through a full bag fitting and was fit into them with the DG X100 shafts.

I have a two ball 10 and the G425 driver and both have made such a large difference to my game. All that forgiveness makes it feel effortless
