I think these are the best golf clubs for beginners. And in late 2023 they've been improved even further.

999 dollars is quite the investment on a beginner set without a bag.

Such a good as always honest review. It's great to see manufacturers listen to reviewer and customers. My question Sir may be a toughy. Which would you recommend more...the Callaway Edge Set or these Stix. I would also love to see a review the Robin Golf Set.

I bought a set of Stix when I came back to golf after a 25 year break. I gotta say, I was pretty impressed with the quality and performance when compared to much more expensive game improvement sets. They were easy to hit and had a nice quality. The customer service is great, and the company clearly listens to customer feedback when you consider the improvements that you noted.

I think if they’re going to cater toward the beginner/high-handicap market primarily, they should add a longer alignment aid on the putter, maybe even a triple track. Other than that, I thought the putter was phenomenal quality with a nice weight and feel. Truth be told, I probably putt better with that putter than I do with my current Ping PLD Anser 2, which is a much pricier putter. But I keep the Ping in the bag because it’s so pretty 😂

Lastly, I’ve since bought a full set of Ping G430s with a Max driver, 5-wood, and a 4 & 5 hybrid, the PLD putter, and Vokey SM9 wedges. This set cost over three times as much as the Stix set I bought. However, it’s definitely not three times better, not even two times better. If you’re looking to get into golf or simply upgrade the old set you’ve been using, Stix is a great way to go without breaking the bank imo. Again, really good performance, good quality (especially the putter), and the customer service is responsive and helpful.

I’m a beginner who has used a set of hand me downs for awhile. I’m moving on to the Stix set of 14 in the hopes that I can grow into a set of clubs, and improve my game, now that I have the time. It seems like that’s exactly what this set was made for.

I love the black as well! Used clubs are probably a better bet! Thanks Gabe

I agree with another comment, $1, 000 for the set of clubs and another $200 for the bag is hardly a beginner set. Most beginners aren't looking to spend much not knowing if they will get into golf or not. Secondly, I would be looking for a used set of TaylorMade M2 irons and woods that would probably be less expensive and provide superior performance. That line was magical!

Hi Gabe. I have been enjoying many of your reviews so far. The Stix clubs do look like a nice set of inexpensive clubs for a golfer getting started at golf. I do however find it necessary to quibble with you about what a beginning golfer should be looking for in clubs. One, fourteen clubs is too many clubs for a beginning golfer. Beginning golfers cannot get the best use out of the lob wedge or the three fairway. I would drop these two clubs. Two, I would recommend beginning golfers play from the Senior or forward tees. These would be the Yellow/Gold tees on most courses. From these tees I would argue most beginning golfers might not even need a driver. If they can hit a five fairway or one of their longer hybrids 200 yards, that would be more than sufficient on most course's forward tees. Three, most beginning golfers would benefit from more hybrids in the longer club selection. I would start at the six iron and every longer club past that should be a hybrid. Again this is for the beginning golfer. Unfortunately most if not all club manufacturers force you to buy irons sets with the six through four at least and don't give you an option to replace them with hybrids. Adding hybrids to replace these longer irons is an unnecessary expense to all golfers. I have not looked through all of Stix's offerings yet, so I don't know if they offer a configuration like that but I know most club manufacturers do not.

Anyway, sorry to quibble. I am enjoying your videos very much. Please keep up the good work. Thanks.

I realize this post is from awhile ago, but wanted to ask a question. You talk about the 'bag makeup' and identified the 5 wood & 5 iron. On Stix website the Perform series doesn't come with these 2 clubs as part of the offering, you can add them for additional cost. I do enjoy your videos and your reviews of all things golf.

Well, since a loaf of bread now costs $6.00, a grand for a set of clubs is reasonable. Excuse me while I put my fist through the wall...

really appreciate on explaining what does perform series differ from previous one.

This convinced me to buy a set. One disappointment was that they no longer include the 5i by default and instead include the bag. Went to buy the 5i separately, and they didn't have my length (+0.5) with steel shafts in stock. I don't particularly like hybrid clubs, so we'll see how that goes (taking them out for my first round with them in a couple days).

My son-in-law wants to take-up golf. We were going to find an inexpensive used set. This makes more sense.

Having tried both, which set do you prefer, the Stix perform set or the callaway edge set?

Does the putter have a graphite shaft?

Nice review Gabe. The clubs look very good, definitely improved. Maybe a bit pricey for beginners but to get Anything this complete, and decent is never going to be fetched for $599!

Will definitely be looking at these since my wife wants to start learning the game. Ladies options are available and for those of short stature I am assuming?

Are you not going to do 2023 iron rankin this year? That was so interesting last year. Hope you still do it for this year.

I'm 6'7" and have been playing with standard length Ram FX3s for the past 20 years. I'm wanting to get custom fitted clubs, but now I'm thinking I might get these with the added 1". Would you see that as a considerable upgrade?

9:38 I’ve got two inexperienced women in my house, does Stix make clubs for women or what might you suggest? Still searching 😅
