The worst part about this episode is that the mom admits to every manipulative thing she's ever done to her daughters and suffers absolutely no consequences.

The subtext in this is awesome.
Different priorities.
Different art styles.
Out of her control.
Is clearly just something her mom payed for and in no way reflects the institution's respect for her.

Between this and Rigby's relationship with Don, I think Quintel might have been jealous of his younger sibling in some way

Childhood favratisum really dose suck, from both sides, as one will grow up with an inferiority complex and believe that nothing is ever good enough, while the other will be under so much pressure to be perfect that eventually they'll burn out and fall into a deep depression because they've failed to live up to their parents high expectations. This also often causes the siblings to become separated and alienated form one another because they've been basically put agents each other for their parents love.

She's not wrong, according to all the moms I've talked to, the second time you have a kid is way easier than the first XD

Everytime Josh speaks off screen, I always think Mordechai from regular show is guest starring...I'm new to the show.

You think this is the Asian mom just being hard on her firstborn comparing her to her younger sibling whose a prodigy but nah.
Turns out her mom's just diabolical like that putting both of them down behind their backs so that they'll keep trying to one up one another. "Pressure makes diamonds" her own words

1:15 “Don’t you have to be dead to have a memorial anything?”
😂😅 Her mother may have plans we didn’t fully realize

“She’s not a real doctor, she just stayed in school too long” HA, so true!

No wonder she's a social media addict. With a toxic family like that a person is gonna look for whatever else helps them feel valued.

my grandma had a serious case of favoritism with her eldest son, and because of that my mom is adamant that she loves my sister and I equally for our separate, distinct traits and never ever compares us. I think it’s pretty sweet she does that because she grew up in her brother’s shadow her whole life

I once asked my mom if grandma ever compared and favored one of my moms sisters than the rest and she said yes and she still does favor one of her sisters more. I then asked her why she thought it was okay to pass on that mentality onto me and my siblings/friends. She didn’t respond.

This sister rivarly reminds me of Phineas and Ferb when Candace friend Stacy is jelous of her little sister Ginger for been better then then her in every way and overshadowing in front of there mother and on the end of a episode it turns out that her little sister was not doing all of that on purpuse just to make her look bad in front of there mother just to do something to make her big sisiter proud of her because she her role model and she thinks she a greatest big sister ever and yeah the both Japanese American just like this girl Bridgettte.

Obviously the second is faster, because you know what you will feel and how to manage it.

I find it funny that the mother timed the birth, In my own family I was born in 20 minutes while my brother 3 hours.

The thing about this episode was that her mother was actually equally proud of both daughters' gifts and skills. All she wanted was competition between them that spurred each other on. Sh*tty thing to do but both of her daughters are equally happy at what they do in life
