I Flew America WORST Airline So You Don't Have To

I Took A Flight on America's WORST Airline! Spirit Airlines is known as America's Worst Airline, so I travelled to the USA with the goal of seeing if this was true or if Spirit has a bad reputation for no reason! After flying Ryanair known as The World's Worst Airline, it will be interesting to see how Spirit Airlines compares!

Our flight was cancelled during to the fact that there weren't enough people booked on that flight to make it profitable for them. As you did - we drove over 3 hours to Detroit (from K-W) for nothing. We ended up driving to Myrtle Beach, but it made our short vacation - even shorter. After the fact - I was reading their reviews and it's supposed to be a common practice with that airline. Never again...

I’ve been flying with spirit for 4 years now and I’ve never really had any problems only one minor problem when they turned around 6 minutes in because of the bathroom not working.

I flew spirit once when I was 7, I am now 13. We were visiting my dad while he was on a work trip in Detroit that lasted 6 months. I am from a small town in Northwest Missouri. We drove to Kansas City and got in the air and once we were in the air the pilot went over the speaker and said to expect some turbulence, which was pretty normal. The plane started shaking for a bit and all the sudden the plane stops, and falls like 300 ft and it felt like the craziest roller coaster ever. Eventually the pilot regained control of the plane and we picked back up. During this experience a woman’s phone from 2 rows ahead of me flew through the air into my lap and after I returned it to her. After that the plane was buzzing with commotion and concern but we landed safely from what I remember. There is my spirit flight experience.

As a airplane fan, let me say that the bathroom door shall not swing open during taxi/takeoff

Here at Spirit Airlines, to move a muscle on our plane, you have to pay a fee of $200, 000 dollars. On top of that, breathing costs twice the amount of moving.

I’ve flew spirt for over 2 years and never saw why it was so bad. People say the food because you don’t get any but it doesn’t really matter to me. I’ve never had any problems except paying $30 extra to get a checked bag. Only because I’m working at an Urban Air and I am only 16 and trying to money for collage.

I flew Spirit to Disneyland and back. It was a OK airline, but my dad had to pay extra for additional savings. They said it was first class seating. They lied because the first service and there was good just if you pay for additional seating or first class seating and they don’t give you a refund that’s what really made me mad.

I flew Spirit in April and the customer service put us on hold for 2 hrs and then hung up on us. Also, they had like rlly bad seats and dirty tray tables. Not to mention the 2 hour delay bc a flight attendant called in sick literally right before we boarded.

I had a flight booked last year with them I had 3 emails. Each one telling me I was delayed longer making it now a 7 hour layover. Only good thing was I had no problem getting a refund because I was within 30. Would rather pay a little more. For a better airline

I’m thankful I’ve never flown Spirit Airlines. While I love that their economy plus section has good seat pitch and big business class seats (Spirit used to be a full service airline until ’07 and these were their old first class seats), the rest is absolutely ridiculous. They offer low fares then charge you for everything, so much so that you end up paying about the same amount as you would’ve if you chose a full service airline on the same route. Not to mention the regular seats have the worst legroom I’ve seen; I’ll only fly on them, or any regular economy seat, if I suddenly become a contortionist.

Most of the issues I've heard with Spirit involve missed connections and cancelled flights. Since Sprit only runs some routes twice a week and doesn't have interline agreements with any other carriers, a delay or cancellation can mean you're stuck somewhere for several days unless you pay out of pocket to make alternative arrangements.
