Thanks for publishing this video. Your instructions helped me successfully replace my alternator on my 2005 Camry. From viewing other videos, around 175000 miles seems to be the point of failure on the OEM alternator. Mine lasted 179000.

When I take out the battery wires I always say: "-" doesn't like to be alone on the battery;) And I don't have a problem anymore with the sequence.

Excellent video! I learned a lot. I guess it would be too much to expect the owner to keep the battery connections clean. It's simple and you don't have to do it that often. Makes me even more uneasy about buying a used car.

Surprising to see an alternator fail that early on a 2AZ. I sent out a customers alternator at 380, 000 KM due to a bearing making noise, still charging just squealing. She sold that car last year to her niece and it had 480, 000 KM.

And if the alternator is tight, thread the upper bolt into the bushing, use a spare socket and hit the bolt with a hammer to clear that bushing from the mount.

My 2007 Sienna just a few days ago has had problems with alternator. My suppose was a broken alternator clutch. I'm waiting for diagnosis from mechanic.
