In Italy Ltd companies go bankrupt the next day, rename to a different one and there's NOTHING you or state can do to recoup your money. It's fucked up.

It's also known as a "Pyrrhic victory" where 'victory' comes at such a great cost to the victor, that it is essentially a loss, or at least negates the value of the victory.

Company I worked for almost 21 years ago was sued by a class action to all the former employees. The company owed millions. The lawyer said we were owed each a sum of 50k each (Almost a year's wage). I only got a check in the mail for 3k and a letter stating that they went bankrupt.

Had this happen once. She didn't pay. Went back to the judge. Said I know she has X in this account at this bank. The judge got the bank to give us the money from her account. She was mad lol. Got my money though.

In other countries, its a mix of physical threats that government allows between two disputed parties OR the government will pay the winning party and then hold the losing party in contempt if not physically seize property of the losing party to recoup the government losses if not through extra taxes to the losing party.

Its why they say sue the company, not the person. People wont have the money. Companies will.

He'll say he can't pay it all now, he'll send you $200 a month, then three months later he's late with the money, and keep you waiting. After six months you get a lawyer, pay the lawyer $1OO to send a letter, then $200 arrives, then the next month another $200, then the payments stop, and you have to go to the lawyer again. After two years, they'll make you an offer, and you're so fed up that you take it.

Yeah, got to love our system of the government gives you whatever you're awarded by the judge and then goes to collect that from the guilty party. It's a lot harder to dodge the government than a person

I'm a member of a professional organization, and years before I joined, some secretary stole 15 grand from them. We are still getting reports to the effect of "This lady still hasn't paid. We talked to the judge again Will update you at the next meeting."

I’m still being drip fed chump change checks from a crash where a drunk driver managed to t-bone me on the freeway, absolutely Shreking my car. I had full coverage, yet here we are 4+ years later and I still haven’t seen all of the money I’m owed.

IMO, the money owed to me should come straight from the county/city in full, then the person liable for the damages has to then pay back the city. They go to jail either way if they don’t pay.
