The only way you win the game of life is to break all the rules you were taught! We were all programed in K-12.

My parents both dropped out of college, but I graduated with three degrees, have worked my butt off and have nothing to show for it. So I resigned from my stressful, overwhelming career, moved in with my mom and choosing to work part-time, run my ONLINE business and enjoy life. 🤷🏾‍♀️After 13 years of working tirelessly in my field, I chose to walk away from the expensive apartment, the long hours, the paperwork and constant micromanaging from management. They have raised the housing costs and retirement age ON PURPOSE, just to keep us slaving and I'm not about to play their game.

"You use the system, don't let it use you" Love this!

Work smarter, not harder. I spent WAY too long doing the latter, because it's what my parents taught me. The world does NOT work that way anymore.

After 4 years in my field, I’ve accepted that hard work doesn’t matter in a career that prioritizes seniority. Hard work is rewarded with more hard work and laziness is awarded with lack of accountability.

So now, I make it a goal to not over exert myself anymore. I simply do nothing more than what’s required of me, collect my pay & benefits and go home.

Working hard doesn't pay off in corporate for sure, I've known several ppl, at my company, that have gotten promoted over me, by doing the bare minimum. These jobs ain't loyal!

I'm hillbilly trash and the only person to go to college in my family. The biggest thing I learned, repeated over and over, the class you were born in is the class you stay in. If you're parents are poor, you will be poor. How can people be expected to know the next class's methods, when you're parents are the ones raising you. These are basics, instilled in our actions, in our problem solving skills, in our family interactions, in our culture. Several college textbooks said, you have to do something extraordinary to break out of your class. Hard work is just to make it in your class. This was life changing for me. I'm going against the grain and doing something extraordinary :) .... NOT participating in their slave labor anymore, NOT buying their crap anymore, and NOT eating the poison anymore. I released my first couple songs last month, and even if I never make it anywhere, I did that. It's out there forever and I did what I LOVED.

I so desperately want to find a way out of this. I'm so tired of having to work so much, especially when it still amounts to nothing. We are all going to leave this world one day. It's terrible we spend so much of our lives punching a time clock instead of spending time with loved ones.

Agreed. I'm an artist and I just want to create now, I've wasted too much time "working hard" at jobs.

I worked in corporate America. Had clients that would call in and request me specifically due to my professionalism. I mean they would even wait if I were busy w another client. I took pride at first Bc it showed I knew what I was doing. One day I calculated how much money I alone made the company in one day! In one day I made them a few millions yet my pay was literally pennies in comparison. I didn’t expect to be filthy rich but the realization that all my boss did was flirt and eat doughnuts as I put my neck on the block daily for $20 an hour was my wake up call! I’ve been investing in self since.

The problem is we spend our ever appreciating time to get ever depreciating money. The more we live, the less time on earth we have, which makes our time more scarce, thus more valuable. And it is the opposite with money. The more money they print, the less valuable money become. We aren't lazy, we are just hood winged and bamboozled.

I believed this for year. I worked and worked 70 80 hours a week, Sometimes 2 3 jobs. . It only got me more work. I saw others surpass me who worked less, but played the games and politics at work. You can only get ahead if you work for yourself.

Tim's right. The whole system is a rigged scam, we're all hamsters on the hamster wheel--well stated.

Like they say “Get rich or die trying”. You will never get rich working for someone else. How much money do you need, we have to be more specific in how much do it takes for us to live comfortably satisfied with. It’s not about working hard, it’s about educating yourself about how money work. I educated myself about Credit, Taxes, Crypto Currency, Stocks and Bonds, Penny Stocks, Mutual Funds, and other investments to make my money work for me while I’m sleep. It’s not about what you make, it’s about what you can keep. They teach us to work for big corporations to make money for them and that’s why schools don’t teach the American people about money because it’s a trap to be a modern day slave to the system we live by today. That’s why the A&B students are working for the students that made Ds & Fs because they self educated themselves to be their own boss.

I don’t have crazy bills, I’m debt free and I’ve been investing since I’ve worked at my current job. Money can work tirelessly YOU CANNOT so save and invest your money, no matter how small.

Working hard is just Government takes everything and they are the only ones that actually have good lives. Off my sweat .. Everyone can kiss my ass that's my attitude

Oh, for real! I've said this to coworkers for YEARS. At my first job out of college I remember encouraging coworkers to apply for other jobs, go back to grad school, whatever. Why because these jobs don't give a damn about you. If you die, they'll just roll you out of that cubicle to make room for the next drone.

Never tolerate one-sided relationships or bargains. Why should you help your employer make a profit if they are not helping you to also make a profit?

Last week I waved goodbye to my last warehouse job after I injured my hand. I'm 10 years out of high school, and made some mistakes financially that had me stuck at those type of jobs. I was able to stack up my emergency funds, and now feel confident enough to leave that hell hole!
