IF you run across folks that say "You're crazy, it can't happen here, our government won't allow it to happen"
your response should be " I imagine those folks in Venezuela said the same thing."

I remember 5 years ago when my son and I moved into our rented house, it snowed so bad that it took us two days to shovel out our driveway which is only big enough to support two cars side by side. So, there are always reasons to prep. I am on pension being 68 years old and if something is on sale at the grocery I will buy two instead of just one item. Also if we have a severe windstorm 80km/hr for instance, the power just might go out, so again it's good to have extra food and water. In the times of our great grandparents and maybe even grandparent most people had gardens and canned their veggies, they were prepping but didn't call it that, it was called saving for a rainy day!!

It's refreshing to see/hear someone who is intelligent, articulate and clear in their message. Really appreciate you and your channel! THANKS.

I learned to grow organic food because of survivalism. If a catastrophe never happens that would be great. I will still eat healthy and grow my garden every year. The prepping mind set improved my life.

I am, but no one could tell. The inside of my house and car look normal.

Decent, reasonable, thoughtful and prepared. You give preppers a good name CP. And among the most you are one of the few who can rightfully own "doomsday prepper" tittle proudly and respectably. Keep up the good work… I am learning MUCH from you. Thank you!

Life is uncertain. Not preparing for the bumps in the road is like living in Missouri without a storm cellar. In the 50s and 60s, bomb shelters were advised. Now, even our government says that we should store 6 months of supplies in case of a prolonged power outage. There are a lot of climate related disasters these days. It just makes sense to me that prepping is a good idea.

We lived several hundred miles inland. No one where we lived expected anything from a hurricane that far inland. Yet after a hurricane we had no power for over 3 weeks, when I was a teen. Trees were down everywhere. Everyone around my grandparents being country people, we chipped in and worked together, for the most part. I don't remember missing anything we actually needed, other than hot water for bathing.
We ate like kings. Barely noticed the power being off, except that the TV and lights didn't work. We personally had a freezer full of meats, fruits, and veggies to "eat before they go bad". Plus what was still ripening in the our garden. So my grandmother fed the entire neighborhood from this kind of reserve we had. She cooked over a wood fire, in the back yard. Fed everyone morning, noon, and evening meals. No one was turned away, no one left hungry. Extras and leftovers were sent home with anyone who wanted them.
Myself and most of the able bodied neighbors worked to clear a single width of our local roads with chainsaws and tractors. 12+ hours a day hard manual labor for well over a week, just so ambulances and other emergency vehicles could get through on the main road in the community. I think my grandmother had free firewood for at least 5 years after that, from what we cut out of the roads.
It brought our community together, it didn't cause any kind of apocalypse mentality. I actually remember it as being fun in some ways. Hard work yes, but fun.
I highly doubt it would work like that now, 30+ years later. People are so narcissistic now. Just watch the original Battlestar Galactica vs the remake to understand the difference in people's mentality, 70's vs 2000's. People used to seem to care more about others than they do now.
Any way the point is, it can happen anywhere, and at any time. So everyone needs to be prepared.

I have prepped for years. Thank god I did. Several years ago I was laid off. My gold, silver, food, and life style allowed me to live in comfort for the year that i was unemployed. So now I use my prepping to prepare even for that.

Another great topic and presentation by CP Nate. I absolutely concur. Perfect timing as well. It seems some of my relations question my sanity because of my preparations for “Doomsday”. So be it sez I, as long as they do not attempt an “intervention”.... perhaps they consider “Doomsday” unrealistic. I study Eschatology, and all indications predict global catastrophe on so many levels and in so many ways, all in rapid succession, soon, and very soon, at a locale near you! Best of luck to you all.

I enjoy the truth you speak you never know and why not be ready just in case

Rational nuanced commentary on the importance and sensibility of being prepared for a variety of contingencies... like our homesteading forefathers. Thank you for helping people to better understand this perspective on living. Keep the commentaries coming.

Very well said. The way of thinking surrounding what is considered 'acceptable' and what is considered 'crazy' is absolutely staggering. Thank you for your continued insight.

Being prepared or "ready" brings a sense of peace. When the power went out in my area (one out of several times a year) I wasnt phased a bit, I knew I had candles, flashlights, extra batteries, food and water ( for at least for 6 to 8 weeks), a means to heat my home, basic medical supplies and then some, etc. I wasnt worried one bit....I had that peace of mind and I am continually building by supply inventory and working of various skills. Lastly your videos have given me motivation to improve....THANKS

I like many aspects of channel: psychological approach to SHTF, practical approach to SHTF and so on, but the best thing is still a daily dose of reality check. I've once heard a therm "reality junkie" and it was used to describe a hard-core realist who knows the shitty side of reality and simply works his way through it by learning and evolving. I think that fits CP.

Much love from the EU!
