These are nothing more than FLOUR TORTILLAS and I intend on making them. I'm a 76 year old Mexican grammy and they look so simple to make. When I was little, my mom used to make THICK gorditas this size. She showed me how her mom would make them as a treat and since they could not afford butter, my grandma would cut them open in half, score the one side inside with a sharp knife and then brush it with soft lard and salt. They were DELICIOUS. I have been wanting my grandma to make them for me. Us Americanized people stuff them with unnecessary meats and veggies. SImplicity is what counts. Lard and salt are delicious. Some day, we will have a shortage of food and it's simple food like this that will keep us alive.

Beautiful. Worked in a restaurant where we made slightly bigger version. Quick idea. Cut into the pocket and stuff these masterpieces with a combo of smoked salmon and scrambled egg, or scrambled egg and crispy bacon or raw spinach, blue cheese, olive oil, black pepper and lemon juice salad...enjoy👨🏻‍🍳😜
