Ours didn’t work after replacing the element. Thank goodness there was a comment that noted that the reset button needed to be hit. Our model didn’t have a reset button but my son was able to Google instructions how to reset it using the control panel on the front. It had multiple, multiple steps but it worked!

The instructions are great. I almost gave up the project, when I got to the the water supply line/inlet valve step. There is not a lot of room, and when I turned the hose nut with the channel locks, it would just move the bracket. So, I skipped this step. I also found the wire strain relief/junction box step unnecessary, so I skipped that step. I just moved the water supply line hose and electric cord, into the holes some, from under the sink into the dishwasher space, to give it room for the unit to be taken out. The electric connections for the heating element did not want to come off easily. I am testing it now.

My wires were all long enough. I unplugged the dishwasher. Turned off the water. Then pulled the dishwasher out and disconnected the element at the back and changed it. Easy breezy.

Why were the wires in the junction boxed dis connected and then reconnected? That step makes to sense

Great video, really appreciate it, but I spent the entire video thinking, really GE you have to completely uninstall the dish washer to service the heating element. Booo, fail.

When disconnecting the electrical, always remove the hot, neutral then ground wire. Ground wire is always first to make, last to break. Just in case there is any voltage, the ground will be your return path so it will trip the breaker.

Looks like this will work for my washer. How come these parts break? Some where in the connection?

I have a GE dishwasher model # GDT695SGJ2BB. It has power, but there are no LED's on the control panel and the control panel is completely unresponsive. I have replaced the electronic control board and that seemed to fix the problem for a couple of days, but now we are back to the same thing. Where should I go from here?

I followed the steps to a T and my dishwasher heating element still does not work. I saw another video on YouTube, where a DIYer showed a black reset button underneath the dishwasher that was supposed to be pushed after replacing the heating element. Just a heads up for everybody else watching this video, and that they left out this critical step.
