Quantum Leap 2022 Reboot First Look at Updated Plot & Character Details

Quantum Leap 2022 has offered more information on where the series is going. Both good and bad news for what the reboot has planned in the fall of 2022.

I am so excited about this, I hope they have Sammy Jo in the show somewhere. Dr Sam Becket never made it home. The premiere date is sept. 19.

If they don't bring Sam Beckett home at some point, then this reboot is a wasted opportunity.

They could never get the Retrieval Program to work to bring Sam home. That was really early in series, so not sure why they would say there is a limitation on absolute leaper time to leap home. It was never about time.

Worried this show will take it where Donald Bellesario didn't want to which is to make it real historical events. They are probably going to "what if we killed Hitler", "stopped 9/11", "prevented slavery and LGBTQIA+ discrimination" kind of shenanigans. The show didn't need thst and solely relied on Al and Sam's chemistry and authenticity of Sam being a dorky and genuine guy who wanted to help others.

Scoot Bakula isn't a part of this project so neither is Sam Beckett. All these years and Sam doesn't get his conclusion, his leap home. I'm not remotely in seeing it now.

The new Knight Rider was trash. Replacing Al with a female is a ticking time bomb. Al was funny and loved women…so, are they are gonna do the same thing with her and yet again shove feminism and lesbianism down our throat?

I was super excited for this show. But the more I hear about it the more I think it's going to suck. Don't get me wrong I will give it a fair shot. I just don't think it will be any good and it will be cancelled after one season. But I do hope I'm wrong.

How can "Magic" be in this reboot? He'd be over 72 years old!

They’ll turn it into the same way Doctor who’s reboot turned out. The first 4 seasons were great then they made the rest too complicated to follow the storyline.

I don't think they added a time frame limit, and they did mention finding him by interviewing whomever wound up in his body which brings to mind, what happened to Sam's body given that the program was discontinued for 30 years and how is Ziggy still the most advanced AI when reactivated, there should've been a mention of porting a 30 year old AI to modern equipment or a new AI based upon Ziggy.

There was also no mention of the evil jumpers and the story plot is a reused plot. I have mixed emotions about this new series, it's good that it's a continuation, it's bad that there are no cameos (even Dr. Beckett's body in suspended animation would've been good) and the story did not recap the final threads and was just a recycle of an ordinary episode. They'll have to do a lot to get viewers to identify with the new characters and do so quickly as the fans of the previous series will start to tune out as they are unimpressed.
