ABOUT QUANTUM LEAP:
It's been nearly 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee), has been assembled to restart the project.

Everything changes, however, when Ben makes an unauthorized leap into the past, leaving the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it. At Ben's side throughout his leaps is Addison (Caitlin Bassett), a decorated Army veteran who appears in the form of a hologram only Ben can see and hear.

Herbert "Magic" Williams (Ernie Hudson) helms the highly confidential operation whose team at headquarters includes Ian Wright (Mason Alexander Park) and Jenn Chou (Nanrisa Lee).

Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt write and executive produce. Don Bellisario, Deborah Pratt and Martin Gero executive produce. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, produces in association with I Have an Idea! Entertainment, Belisarius Productions and Quinn's House Productions.

Going to give this a chance but I think the studios missed the boat on this one. How wonderful and nostalgic it would have been to have Scott Bakula back as Sam, still leaping after all these years and having aged appropriately, (as I have) and still doing his best to alter time for the best. He could've finally lept back into his own body, ecstatic at first, seeing all his loved ones finally once again. Then he runs into someone he's lept into in the past, sees the difference that he made in their life and others around them and realizes he could make a bigger difference if he kept leaping. He then, in a selfless act decides to return leaping so says goodbye for the last time to all the people he loves.

A reboot "re imagine for modern audiences". Just made me wanna rewatch the original

They should go totally meta and have the new guy leap into the body of an actor doing a TV show about someone who can time travel by leaping into other people's lives. THIS is how you get Scott into the new show.

What happens when you have an intellectual property that is so well loved that it's almost iconic...and you decide that you want to reboot? Well, you want to ask yourself why the original worked? The original worked because Scott Bakula is the nicest guy in the world, and you just...liked him. He was vulnerable, he was charming, he was lost, , but trying to find his way. In the original, he didn't know what was going on, and it took several episodes before he sort of had a clue as to what was happening. In this reboot, they explain it all in the first episode. So, we don't connect with him, because he isn't struggling to learn who he is. It's given to him. I hope that it's amazing, but...it's not off to a good start.

The studio missed the boat on this one, they should have continued with Scott Bakula seeing as how he never got home. Scott Bakula is still alive, still looks good, and is still acting. Since they never gave us an ending to the Sam Beckett story I don't think I'll be tuning in.

My dad died this time last year. I grew up watching the original show with him. So many good memories. Fun to think my son can now watch this one with me. Hopefully they keep it clean and don’t try to indoctrinate my kids with the world’s idea of right and wrong. If a hair of that crap shows, this show will not. But, I’m hopeful this will be a fun time.

I'm gonna try give the first episode a chance first. Scott Bakula already shared his info and feelings on his Instagram about the development of this new reboot series and acknowledged it and wish the best for the new team. As much as we all miss Scott and especially Dean who's not here with us anymore (RIP Dean Stockwell), me and my brother will give it a watch since we're a huge fan of the original series since we were kids. Can't wait!

I seem to remember another show kind of like that. It was really good.

The first 3 episodes were a bit rocky, but the show got progressively better and better and better. My fiancee and I really enjoy this show now. Episode 6 was one of my favorites.

I know it’s premature to say this… but I’m gonna say it anyway …. People want nostalgia …. Without Dr. Beckett, the show is dead in the water

I feel that what made the original Quantum Leap good was Dean Stockwell and Scott Bakula had GREAT chemistry and had fun doing this show. I don't feel or see this... So like every other reboot this one is gonna fail hardcore. Hollywood needs to leave classics in the past where they belong.

Quite a while back, there was talk of a new Quantum Leap on SyFy. (Their movies are horrible, but their TV shows are great...usually)
The concept was that Sam's daughter (Who he fathered in the final seasons "Trilogy" episodes) would be the one leaping. Saving people, and trying to locate her father.
It was explained in the trilogy finale that he did father a daughter, that she was very smart, and worked at the Project in New Mexico.

I was really wanting that. Still going to give this a shot, and hope for the best.
