Proper Bike Lock-Up Video with a U-Lock

Major points to consider when locking up:

1. Always lock in a well-lit area
2. Always lock to a stationary object that can’t be cut
3. Always lock according to value: First priority is the frame, then the rear wheel and the front wheel
4. Keep the lock up off the ground with the key-way facing down

I use two U locks. One locks frame and back wheel to stationary object. Other locks frame and front wheel to stationary object.

Those locks cost more in total than my bike. Should I get extra locks to stop people stealing these locks and if so which brand would you recommend ?

God Damn It! 30+ years... I've been doing it all wrong - I remove front wheel and lock everything securely with one single U-Lock!!

I have a fat tire bike and this shackle won't go around the real wheel nor is it long enough to secure to anything if going through it. What a pain.

Some of the locks are extremely heavy. Series 4 bicycle locks, can these be picked and is this series out of date now ?

Should I buy larger or smaller U-lock?

Do not use a U lock because after a week or so they start to refuse to lock and unlock. I bought a U lock and used it for about a week and then it would would not lock and hoa to force it to lock. When I came to unlock my bike it would not unlock. I had pull it against the frame if my bike to get it to come apart...I ended up scratcjing the frame of my bike. I'm not happy these locks are unpredictable. I'm going to invest in a good quality chain lock inatead.
