another way is buy a strong u lock and unlock the front wheel and lock both rear, front wheel and the frame to a secure thing. Also take the seat with you. It's a great option :)

I like the double lock (cable and U) technique good tip.

The fastest lock and the easiest one to apply is a lock called "friend". With friend you don´t need any keys, or you don´t have to remember any code, and everything on the bike stays as it is, you don´t have to remove anything. Friend is usually also very cheap, you need just a little chocolate bar or something sweet to get your friend ready even next time you use him. Try him, I´m sure you will be satisfied.

Having your bike outside is just a big target. Nice video here.

I think 2 locks are better than 1. However, 3 or 4 cheap locks makes it even more fun.

What's stopping them from taking the quick release off the front wheel. The unscrewing the headset bolt then taking the front fork and handle bars? How do i lock my Handle bars and fork up?

How would you secure the battery on an electrical bike like the HeyBike Mars. The seat is foldable, for ease in removal to recharge or such, but awfully heavy to remove and carry with you, due to the weight issue involved. Any suggestions to that question? Thanks for the video.

they shud make a lock that gives a jolt of electricity knocking the thief unconscious.

The same thing happen back when I was in school. They stole whole line of bicycles locked on the racks, leaving nothing but front or back wheels. My schoolmate got his first proper MTB just a week before that or something like that. Whoever did it, they sure knew what they were doing.... such a shame.

This is why I love my lefty front wheel, totally useless to anyone who stole it because it can only be used with a lefty fork not to mention you need a 5 mm wrench to undo the hub bolt and caliper fixing bolts to take it off.

what's the best way to lock your bike if you only have a single cable?

I agree with you. 2 locks are a requirement. One quick question, is it a requirement to get 2-bolt skewer set for both front and back wheels in addition to this dual cable and U-lock? Appreciate your quick response.

I not sure why the cabling part is included. Cabling is easy to cut. You need two highly rated D locks, of different brands. One to lock the frame and front wheel to the rack. The other to lock the back wheel and frame to the rack. ***-I guess a 3rd D lock to lock the seat post to the frame?

A friend of mine had an old bike and just put some weld dots in the essential places so you couldn't remove anything from it.

I had one of those locks, and they cut it outside a Home Depot at 4PM on a Sunday.

You wouldn't believe the parts people would steal in NYC.

Can't those cable locks be easily cut?

Ride a bike, and have a friend with a car carying your locks, or just equip urself with big backpack, dismantle your bike, put it in backpack and carry it around.
