Lock it using rear seat stays (rear triangle) then you have the frame locked with the wheel spokes. I have bolts in my wheels anyway, I've had people look at mine but walk away, there appeared to have had a go but I still have my bike today thank goodness

Hi there, I have two questions. Why not also lock the frame in with the tire in the back triangle? Also how can I incorporate a cable with this lock to protect my front wheel?

I was once told and practiced using hose clamps around quick release levers. Also use two locks instead of one.

If it cuts the rear wheel, the frame will be free (passing the U-lock through the cut wheel), but not sure how difficult is to cut the wheel

Best way to use a Mini U-Lock.

Downside : a few bike racks are not designed for this purpose and need a larger U-Lock (toast rack for example).

But I really like this method combined to a special screw for the front wheel and the handlebar. Lightweight, small footprint in your bag and really effective.

If you are in a really high crime area (a college campus for example), then a second u-lock or a good chain is not a bad idea.

Agree on skewers if you can swing it. My e-bike isn't super skewer-friendly, so I usually use multiple locks (one u-lock, and one chain). And I take the seat off. And I have a cafe lock. And I take the battery out. HA!

If you haven't seen the Hiplok D1000, it looks SICK. When it comes out, they're saying $300, but better than anything else out there. I only wish I could use my Abus Plus keys with it.

I have an ebike so when I clock in for work or anywhere in general I lock both wheels deflate the tiers take and take the seat with me I know it's a lot but better safe than sorry

Best way is with either of the grinder resistant d-locks by hiplok or litelok. If you've got an expensive E-Bike, buy two. One for the rear wheel and frame and one for the front wheel.

If your bike wheels are both quick release, take the front wheel off and lock it together with the rear wheel and frame.

Use the seat tube and the rear wheel. Bolt cutters can cut an aluminum rim like a cupcake. As me how I know.

Maybe the security would be to lock your bike and remove both quick releases and keep them on you.

I don't know if you can say he "created" this. One just learns to be less sloppy about it as you get more bike time in. Example. When I was 10 and on I was riding to my schools every day up to starting high school. We used what we were given, which was a really weak rubber sheathed chain and padlock and we locked them as I remember kind of randomly with very little thought. But everyone had a bike there, mine was simply typical, and there wasn't a big theft problem, so it wasn't that big of a deal. But you take it more seriously as you get older and get better locks and chains.

Get a bigger u lock put through the tire and seat stay then get a cable with a loop on each end then loop the cable through the front tire and front of the frame then put the loop through the u lock there is a video on thai
