BEST (unknown) Subaru Oil & Filter Combo? #shorts

This is my GO-TO choice for a Subaru oil and filter combo!!! #shorts

It’s a Mazda OEM filter and Motul 100% Synthetic 5w-30w (or 5w-40w) oil. The Mazda filter has a larger internal volume than the Subaru OEM filters and Motul oil is a proven option that works great for NA and Turbo engines.

I use the Subaru OEM filter because I remember seeing an old NASIOC thread where they cut up a bunch of filters, and the Subaru one had the most filter material area.

I use the Subaru brand oil and oem filters engine runs super smooth

Personally I like the Motul 8100 xcess gen 2 5w40 and Puröl 10w40

I kept seeing worn cam journals including my 3.6R which used motul 8100 for 180k.

I switched to a high zinc oil from amsoil and what a difference. I highly recommend you try 10w-40 amsoil ZROD or premium protection. Lucas also sells a high zinc oil. Reason is cam over bucket needs high zinc, just like the tappet style cams from the muscle car era. EPA has been phasing it out but EJ and EZ need it!

I use those filters on my 207 swapped WRX. I got an oil analysis done through black stone and they commented the oil filter was doing a great job keeping insolubles low (.2%). Using Motul 8100 xCess 5w40

I have been using this filter for years on my 06XT.
I have to use a cup style Oil Filter Removal Tool because of the limited space around the exhaust heat shield on my Subaru model.
I just went into my local parts store and asked for an oil filter removal tool for an RX8
